Steps:
- Place your mold on a baking sheet.
- Gently melt the semisweet chocolate and 1 teaspoon vegetable oil in a large microwave-safe bowl, stopping and stirring at 30-second intervals until melted and smooth. Add ¼-1/2 teaspoon of peppermint extract.
- Pour into your silicone molds (my layers were slightly under a half-inch deep). Gently shake the pan back and forth to level the chocolate.
- Sprinkle with some candy cane bits.
- Refrigerate while making the white chocolate layer.
- Melt the white chocolate and 1 teaspoon vegetable oil as you did the dark chocolate and add extract.
- Pour white chocolate over dark chocolate (about the same depth), gently shake the pan to level the white chocolate, and sprinkle tops with candy cane bits before the chocolate hardens.
- Chill, then remove from molds to serve

- Place candy canes inside a ziploc plastic bag, zip, and place bag on a cutting board. Use a rolling pin or pan to crush candy canes. Set aside.
- To make peppermint snowflake bark: In a medium microwavable bowl, add white candy melts or white chocolate and 1-1/2 teaspoons of vegetable oil. Melt in the microwave at 50% power in 30 second intervals, stirring well after each 30 seconds. This whole process will take about 1-1/2 to 2 minutes. When fully melted, add 1/4 tsp peppermint extract (optional) and stir well!
- IF USING THE MOLDS: Distribute one third of the crushed candy canes into the 12 snowflake molds. Using a small cookie scooper or a spoon, distribute the melted white candy melts or white chocolate into each of the 12 snowflake mold cavities. Shake molds a bit in order to distribute melted candy melts or chocolate uniformly over the bottom of the molds. Sprinkle one third of the crushed candy canes into the molds. Place in the refrigerator and let set for about 30 minutes.
- Repeat process with red candy melts or semisweet chocolate. Sprinkle the remaining one third of the crushed candy canes over the red melted candy melts or semisweet chocolate.

- In a small bowl, microwave the dark chocolate until melted. I cooked it for 1 minute, then stirred and had to heat for another 30 seconds until it was completely melted.
- In a frosting bag, pour the chocolate into the bag, cut the bottom corner. The slowly squeeze out the chocolate at the bottom of each snowflake, trying to divide the chocolate evenly so that you have 5. I just eyeball it.
- Tap the cookie sheet against the counter to level out the chocolate and get out any air bubbles. Place in the refrigerator for 2-3 minutes.
