SUPREME PIZZA BURGERS

1 pound ground beef
1 pound Italian sausage (a little more is fine!)
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
12 slices provolone
16 slices pepperoni
Thinly sliced red onion, for topping
1 green bell pepper, sliced thick
Sliced black olives, for topping
8 tablespoons jarred marinara sauce, plus a little more
4 kaiser rolls or good hamburger buns (kaiser rolls from the bakery section)
Butter, for toasting
Grated Parmesan (store bought)

Steps:

  • Combine the ground beef, Italian sausage and Italian seasoning in a bowl. Knead the mixture together and form it into four large/thick patties.
  • Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the burgers on one side for several minutes, then turn the burgers. Lay 2 slices of provolone on each patty, followed by 4 slices of pepperoni. Add a couple of thin slices of red onion, a slice of green bell pepper and a pile of black olives. Spoon a little marinara sauce on top, then lay another slice of cheese on top of all the fillings.
  • Place the lid on the skillet and allow the burgers to cook all the way through while the cheese melts and the pepperoni warms.
  • Split the rolls and toast them in butter in a skillet until nice and golden and crisp. Spread both halves with more marinara sauce and sprinkle the sauce with Parmesan.
  • Lay the patties on the bottom buns, then top with the top buns. Serve immediately; hearty appetites are recommended!

1 cup milk
1/4 cup olive or vegetable oil
2 teaspoons chopped fresh basil leaves or 1/2 teaspoon dried basil leaves
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper, if desired
1 egg
2 1/4 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
3/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (3 ounces)
1/3 cup chopped pepperoni
1/4 cup sliced ripe olives
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
3 teaspoons baking powder

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. Generously grease loaf pan, 8 1/2x4 1/2x2 1/2 or 9x5x3 inches; coat with Parmesan cheese.
  • Mix milk, oil, basil, red pepper and egg in large bowl. Stir in remaining ingredients. Spread in pan. Sprinkle with additional grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
  • Bake 45 to 50 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes. Loosen sides and bottom of loaf from pan; remove from pan and place top side up on wire rack. Cool completely before slicing. Store tightly wrapped in refrigerator up to 2 days.

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 400ºF.
  • Brown meat with onions in large skillet. Meanwhile, cut bread crosswise in half, then cut each piece lengthwise in half. Place, cut-sides up, on foil-covered baking sheet.
  • Add tomato sauce and oregano to meat; mix well. Simmer 5 min., stirring occasionally. Spread onto bread slices; top with cheese and bacon.
  • Bake 12 min. or until cheese is melted. Cut in half.

1 ½ pounds lean ground beef
1 pound chopped cooked ham
1 pound American cheese, cut into pieces
1 (14 ounce) jar pizza sauce
1 tablespoon dried oregano
8 hamburger buns, split, or as desired

Steps:

  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir beef in the hot skillet until browned and crumbly, 5 to 7 minutes; drain and discard grease. Let ground beef cool until easily handled.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Process ham and American cheese in a food processor until finely chopped. Mix ground beef, ham and American cheese, pizza sauce, and oregano together in a large bowl. Spread mixture onto the bottom half of each hamburger bun and place the tops over the filling. Arrange hamburgers on a baking sheet.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until cheese is melted in the burgers and buns are lightly browned, 15 to 20 minutes.

1 cup sliced black olives
1/2 cup fire-roasted bell peppers
1/4 cup sun-dried tomatoes

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 250 degrees F (convection) or 275 degrees F (conventional).
  • Blend pork, beef, cream, ketchup, breadcrumbs, ice water, salt, lemon juice, ground mustard, dehydrated onion, smoked paprika, white pepper, sugar, garlic powder and eggs in a food processor until well blended.
  • Turn out into a bowl and add the Cheddar, Swiss cheese, olives, peppers and tomatoes (or add your favorite pizza toppings like salami, pepperoni, mushrooms...).
  • Pack into a 9-by-5-by-3-inch loaf pan.
  • Bake until internal temperature reads 160 degrees F, about 2 hours.

1 large egg, beaten
1 can (8 ounces) pizza sauce
3 cups cornflakes
1 can (4 ounces) mushroom stems and pieces, drained
1/4 cup chopped onion
1-1/2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 pounds lean ground beef
1 cup shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, mix egg, pizza sauce, cornflakes, mushrooms, onion, salt and pepper. Add ground beef; mix well. Pat half of the meat mixture into a 9-in. square pan. Sprinkle half of the mozzarella cheese over top. Cover with the remaining meat. Bake at 350° for 50-60 minutes or until no pink remains. Drain. Sprinkle with remaining cheese. 1 (4 ounce) can mushroom stems (drained)
2 tablespoons flour
1 teaspoon paprika
1/4 cup chopped onion
3/4 teaspoon oregano

1 (10 ounce) box hot roll mix
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 egg, slightly beaten

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400°F
  • In large skillet, combine the first 7 ingredients. Cook over medium heat for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cool 10 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, prepare hot roll mix as for pizza. Add 1/2 teaspoons salt on lightly floured board, using floured rolling pin. Roll into 12" square. Place on greased cookie sheet.

1 tablespoon tomato paste
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon white sugar

Steps:
