Ingredients

3 whole fryer chickens split into pieces (about 6 pounds each)
1 cup Southern Homestyle buttermilk
2 cups self-rising flour
Cooking spray or oil (your favorite).

Steps:

Place the chicken in a large bowl, pour the buttermilk over the chicken, and set aside to marinate for an hour. Place flour in a large plastic bag and set aside. Heat oil in a large deep skillet over medium-high heat.
Dredge the chicken pieces in the flour, shake off any excess, and place the chicken into the skillet. Fry on each side for 3-4 minutes or until golden brown.
Remove the chicken from the oil and drain it on paper towels. Serve with your favorite sides and enjoy!
