I came up with this to use up leftover Christmas ham. It's quick, easy, yummy, and a hit with the kids!

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 1/2 cups ham, chopped
1 cup mushroom, thinly sliced
1 garlic clove, crushed
4 eggs
300 ml cream
1/2 cup parmesan cheese, freshly grated
500 g pasta
1 teaspoon butter
black pepper

Steps:

  • Melt the butter in a small frypan, and cook the mushrooms & garlic for 2 minutes. Remove from heat.
  • Cook the pasta until just al dente in salted water. Drain, and return to the pan.
  • While the pasta is cooking, beat the eggs, parmesan and cream together in a bowl until well combined. Stir the ham and mushrooms through the mixture. Pour the sauce over the hot pasta and toss gently to combine.
  • Return th epan to very low heat and cook for 1 minute. Add pepper to taste.

Carbonara with ham is a delicious, rich and creamy dish. It is great to prepare for holiday seasons and for special occasions. This is a quick and easy recipe made with simple ingredients. Just cooked the pasta noodles and fried the sliced sweet ham with butter, then added the minced garlic, onion and sliced mushrooms to sauté. With a combination of evaporated milk, all-purpose cream and cheese, the pasta sauce becomes creamy and rich. To complete the rich taste of the carbonara sauce, season it with ground black pepper and sugar. Toss and mix the cooked noodles with the prepared sauce on low heat and then, that's it. You can now enjoy the quick and easy carbonara with ham dish with your family and friends.

450 grams Pasta noodles
2 liters Water
1 tablespoon Salt
1 tablespoon Cooking Oil
Cooked Pasta Noodles
250 grams Sweet Ham
410 milliliters Evaporated Milk
250 milliliters All Purpose Cream
165 grams Mushroom
50 grams Butter
1 piece Onion
4-5 cloves Garlic
165 grams Cheese
2-3 tablespoons Sugar
1-2 pinch Ground Black Pepper

Steps:

  • In a pot, add 2 liters of water, 1 tablespoon salt and 1 tablespoon cooking oil, stir to mix then add the pasta noodles. Bring to boil and cook for 8-10 minutes. When pasta is cooked, drain it and set aside.
  • In a pan, melt butter over low-medium heat. Add the sweet sliced ham cook it until turns light brown. Make a space to add chopped garlic, sauté it for few seconds then add the minced onion and sauté it together with garlic.
  • Add sliced mushroom, sauté and mix it altogether then add evaporated milk, sugar, and quick melt cheese. Season with ground black pepper, stir and simmer few minutes.
  • Add all-purpose cream, simmer again until sauce slightly thick and creamy. Add the cooked pasta previously set aside. Stir and mix the pasta noodles with the sauce over low heat. Transfer to a serving plate when done cooking.
  • Serve and happy eating.

1 standard packet of spaghetti pasta
2 standard tubs of soft cream cheese. I use the one with chives in
8 large mushrooms. washed thoroughly. and sliced
a packet of sliced ham approx 8 slices. cut into thin strips.
parmesian cheese grated. approx 20g.
a tsp of olive or vegetable oil.

Steps:

  • boil spaghetti until nice and soft. whilst boiling away fry the mushrooms in the teaspoon of oil then place on some kitchen roll to drain out the excess oil.
  • drain pasta thoroughly and place back in the pan. add the rest of the ingredienst (except the parmesian cheeses to the pan and place on the hob thats cooling down it will still heat the mix up perfectly.
  • once cream cheese has melted to a sauce like mixture covering all the ingredients. serve and sprinkle on parmersian enjoy.

1 medium onion, thinly sliced
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 cup cubed, fully cooked ham
1/2 cup chicken broth
1/4 cup margarine, melted
2 egg yolks, beaten
1/2 cup fresh parsley, minced
1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated

Steps:

  • Cook pasta.
  • In a skillet, saute the onion in oil.
  • Add the ham, broth and margarine and heat through.
  • Add drained pasta to ham mixture.
  • Pour in egg yolks and cook until the eggs are completely set.
  • Sprinkle with parsley and Parmesan cheese and toss to coat.

Personally, I would add peas, but they're not allowed in the house. So I accompany this with a large leafy salad. Very quick, very easy.
