- Heat oven to 350 degrees F (325 for dark or nonstick pan).
- Line 9-inch square pan with foil, allowing some to hang over edges of pan.
- Grease bottom and sides of foil with shortening or cooking spray.
- Make and bake brownies as directed on box for cake-like brownies.
- Cool completely on cooling rack, about 1 1/2 hours.Using foil to lift, remove brownies from pan, and peel foil away.
- Cut brownie in half; place 1 half on serving plate.Spoon frosting into microwavable bowl.
- Microwave uncovered on High 15 seconds.
- Stir frosting until smooth.
- Spread half of frosting over brownie half on plate.
- Place other half of brownie on top; spread remaining frosting over top.
- Sprinkle with candies.
- Refrigerate 30 minutes to set.
- Store loosely covered.

- Heat oven to 350°F (if using dark or nonstick pan, heat oven to 325°F). Grease bottom and sides of 13x9-inch pan with shortening or spray with cooking spray.
- In large bowl, beat brown sugar, butter, peanut butter, vanilla and eggs with electric mixer on medium speed, or mix with spoon, until well blended. Stir in flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Cut 12 of the candies into fourths (about 3/4 cup). Stir cut-up candies and chocolate chips into batter. Spread in pan.
- Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown. Immediately press remaining 24 candies in brownies in 4 even rows of 6 candies each. Cool completely, about 1 1/2 hours. For brownies, cut into 6 rows by 4 rows.

Steps:
- In a small bowl, mix the peanut butter, salt and powdered sugar until firm. Slowly melt the chocolate chips in a double boiler over hot, not boiling, water. You may also melt them in a microwave oven set on high for 2 minutes, stirring halfway through the heating time. Grease the muffin tin cups and spoon some chocolate into each cup, filling halfway. With a spoon, draw the chocolate up the edges of each cup until all sides are coated. Cool in the refrigerator until firm. Spread some of the peanut butter onto the chocolate in each cup, leaving room for the final chocolate layer. Cool the cups again to firm up the peanut butter. Pour some chocolate onto the top of each candy and spread it to the edges. Let sit at room temperature, or covered in the refrigerator. Turn out of the pan when firm.
