Ingredients

Pencil
Colorful paper plate
Scissors
Glue
Cheerios™ cereal

Steps:

Draw a starfish shape on the paper plate. Cut out the shape.
Fold each leg in half, starting at the tip and moving toward the center.
Make a crease between each leg, folding in the opposite direction, to the center to create a 3-D starfish.
Spread glue all over the starfish and cover with the cereal. Let stand until dry.

Ingredients

1 1/4 cups defatted chicken broth
1 1/2 cups water
6 sprigs fresh cilantro
1 teaspoon minced ginger
2 cloves garlic, peeled and crushed
3 black peppercorns and 1/2 teaspoon salt
1 slice of lime
1 pound cod, cut into 2-inch pieces
1 tablespoon each olive oil, minced ginger and minced garlic
5 cups defatted chicken broth
Salt and pepper, to taste
8 ounces angel-hair pasta, cooked
2 ripe medium-sized tomatoes, seeded and cut into 8 pieces each
1 head of broccoli (about 1 1/2 pounds), cut into florets and blanched
4 scallions (3 inches of green left on), sliced on the diagonal, for garnish
4 thin lime slices
2 tablespoons chopped flat-leaf parsley or slivered basil, for garnish

Steps:

1. Bring all fish broth ingredients except cod to a boil in a large skillet; reduce to a simmer. Add cod; simmer 7-8 minutes or until fish is cooked through. Gently remove cod to a plate with a slotted spoon; reserve.
2. Prepare serving broth: Place olive oil in a heavy saucepan over low heat. Add ginger and garlic; cook over medium-low heat for 3 minutes. Add broth and cook, partially covered, for 10 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Let steep, covered, 15 minutes longer. Strain the broth into another saucepan; set aside. Heat before serving.
3. Arrange cod, pasta, tomatoes, and broccoli in a pinwheel fashion in each of 4 large bowls. Top each with 1 1/4 cups hot serving broth. Sprinkle with scallions. Place a lime slice in the center of each and garnish with parsley or basil. Serve immediately.

These baked grilled cheese sandwiches should be a big hit, shaped like starfish.

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting
3/4 teaspoon table salt
1 1/2 tablespoons baking powder
9 tablespoons cold unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
1 cup milk, plus more for brushing
Cornmeal, for sprinkling
1 1/4 pounds cheddar cheese, cut into 1/4-inch thick slices
3 tablespoons mayonnaise

Steps:

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Line baking sheet with parchment. In large bowl, sift together flour, salt, and baking powder. Using pastry blender or 2 knives, cut butter into flour mixture until it resembles coarse meal.
Make a well in center of flour mixture; pour in milk. Mix, using a fork, until dough just comes together. Transfer dough to a lightly floured surface; press to form a 6- to 7-inch-diameter circle.
Roll out the dough 1/3-inch thick. Cut out with 3 1/2-inch star-shape cookie cutter. Transfer to the prepared baking sheet. Lightly brush the tops with milk, and sprinkle with cornmeal. Bake until golden, 10 to 12 minutes. Remove from oven, and transfer biscuits to a wire rack to cool.
Cut cheese into star shapes. Cut each biscuit in half crosswise. Spread one half with mayonnaise; top with a cheese star. Cover with the other half, and serve.
