Here's what you need: bone-in short ribs, baby potato, salt, onion, garlic, baby carrots, green beans, BBQ sauce, brown sugar, cayenne pepper, cumin, dried oregano, salt

2 lb bone-in short ribs
1 lb baby potato
1 pinch salt
1 onion, cut in half
4 cloves garlic, large
1 lb baby carrots
1 lb green beans
1 cup BBQ sauce
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon dried oregano
½ teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • In a bowl, mix BBQ sauce, brown sugar, cayenne pepper, cumin, oregano, and ½ teaspoon of salt until well combined.
  • Place bone-in short ribs in the bottom of a 6-quart (6 liters) slow cooker.
  • Add the spice mix over the meat.
  • Throw in the baby potatoes and add a pinch of salt, then add onion, garlic, and baby carrots.
  • Cover and cook on low heat for 7-8 hours, or high for 3-4 hours.
  • Add green beans during the last 30 minutes of cooking time.
  • Enjoy!

3 lbs beef short ribs, cut into serving-sized pieces
2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 teaspoon dried thyme leaves, crushed
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 (10 1/2 ounce) can condensed French onion soup
1 (12 fluid ounce) bottle dark beer or 1 (12 fluid ounce) bottle beer

Steps:

  • Place the beef into a 3 1/2- to 6-qt. slow cooker.
  • Add the brown sugar, garlic, thyme and flour.
  • Toss to coat.
  • Stir the soup and ale in a small bowl.
  • Pour over the beef.
  • Cover and cook on LOW for 8 to 9 hours* or until the beef is fork-tender.
  • Serve with the mashed potatoes or noodles, if desired.
  • This could be cooked in the slow cooker on high for 4-5 hours, but I haven't tried it.

  • Add the wine, beef stock, and honey, and bring to a boil, which should take a few minutes. Then pour the contents of the pan into the crock of your slow cooker. Nestle the short ribs into the liquid, submerging it the best you can (but it's fine if they aren't completely submerged).
