It doesn't get much better than this slow cooker ranch flavored pot roast!

1 beef roast (3-5 lbs--chuck, bottom round, rump or whatever you use)
3 tbsp homemade ranch seasoning mix -OR- 1 envelope store bought
2 tbsp homemade Italian dressing mix -OR- 1 envelope store bought
1 envelope brown gravy mix
2 cups carrots (optional)
6 medium potatoes (cut in half (optional))
1/2 cup water

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, mix the ranch seasoning, Italian dressing mix and brown gravy mix.
  • Pat roast dry then rub the seasoning mixture over the entire roast.
  • Place in a 5-7 quart slow cooker and pour the water around the roast.
  • Add the carrots and potatoes, if using.
  • Cover and cook on low 7-10 hours, high 4-7 hours. !!TIMES ARE APPROXIMATE AND DEPEND ON THE SHAPE/THICKNESS OF THE ROAST!!
  • To thicken gravy, mix 2 tbs flour with 3 tbs water for EACH cup of pan juice. Place the pan juices in a small saucepan and heat to boiling. Add the flour/water mixture and stir until thick. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to simmer and cook for about 5 minutes

¾ cup beef broth
1 ½ pounds new potatoes

Steps:

  • Place beef roast in the bowl of a slow cooker. Sprinkle the ranch seasoning mix over the roast and rub in well.
  • Pour the beef broth around the roast.
  • Set the crockpot to low and cook for 6 hours. Add the potatoes and carrots and cook for another 2 hours. Slice and serve hot.

1 onion, diced
3 gold potatoes, diced

½ cup water

Steps:

  • Place the chuck roast in a 7-quart (6 ½ liters) slow cooker and season with salt and pepper.
  • Sprinkle the onion soup pack and top with vegetables and water.
  • Cook on low for 8 hours, or high for 4-5 hours.

1 onion, sliced
¼ cup all-purpose flour
1 (2 1/2 pound) boneless beef chuck roast
1 pinch salt and ground black pepper to taste
1 (1.2 ounce) package dry beef gravy mix
1 (1 ounce) package ranch dressing mix
1 (.7 ounce) package dry Italian-style salad dressing mix
½ cup water, or as needed
5 whole peeled carrots

Steps:

  • Spray the inside of a slow cooker with cooking spray. Spread the onion slices out into the bottom of the cooker.
  • Spread the flour out onto a work surface. Sprinkle the chuck roast with salt and black pepper, and roll the roast in the flour to coat all sides. Using the edge of a small, sturdy plate, pound the flour into the meat. Place the floured roast into the cooker on top of the onions. Whisk together beef gravy mix, ranch dressing mix, and Italian dressing mix in a bowl, and whisk the mixes with water until smooth. Pour over the chuck roast. Distribute carrots around the meat.
  • Cover the cooker, set to Low, and cook until the roast is tender and the gravy has thickened, about 8 hours.

1/2 (1/2 oz.) packet Hidden Valley® The Original Ranch® Salad Dressing & Seasoning Mix
1 (0.87 oz.) package dry brown gravy mix
2 pounds boneless chuck roast
1 1/2 pounds new potatoes halved
1/2 cup water
parsley for garnish, (optional)

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, combine Italian seasoning, Ranch seasoning, and gravy mix. Blend. Prick the entire roast with a fork. Rub the dried mix on roast. In a slow cooker, spread potatoes on bottom. Place seasoned chuck roast on potatoes. Pour water around roast. Cover and cook on high for 6 hours or 8 hours on low. Roast should have an internal temperature of 145ºF. Garnish with chopped parsley. Serve. Tip: For a thicker sauce, remove roast and potatoes and transfer to a platter. Pour the cooking juices into a sauce pan. Stir together 3 tablespoon cornstarch and 3 tablespoon cold water. Bring sauce to a boil and whisk cornstarch mixture into boiling sauce. Spoon sauce over meat and potatoes. Add ½ pound baby carrots and 1 sliced onion and place at the bottom of the crockpot along with the potatoes for a heartier meal.
