Tired of bread machine bread recipes coming out dry and hard? This is a foolproof method for getting perfect bread every time!

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 cup water ((very hot))
1 egg
4 tablespoons butter ((cold- not softened))
1/4 cup sugar
1 1/4 teaspoons salt
3 cups flour
1 tablespoon quick-rise yeast

Steps:

  • Place hot water, egg, butter, sugar, and salt in bread machine.
  • Add 3 cups flour. Make a small well in the flour and add yeast.
  • Set bread machine to "dough" for 90 minutes (1 hour 30 minutes) and start.
  • When dough is finished. Pour directly into a greased bread pan. If needed, gently turn the bread or tuck in the edges so the top is smooth.
  • Place bread in COLD oven and set oven to 350 degrees. Set timer for 30 minutes.
  • When finished baking, remove from oven and carefully remove bread from the pan (it's ok if it is sticky).
  • Place on a baking rack to cool and brush the top with butter. Place a towel over the bread or place in a plastic Ziplock bag to keep from drying out.
  • Serve immediately or place in a plastic Ziplock bag to keep from drying out.

*1 cup water
*1/4 cup butter (you can also use smart balance, brummel and brown with yogurt, which is my favorite, etc.)
*1 large egg (I have never tried egg substitute)
*1 and 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
*1 and 1/4 tsp. almond extract (I have also used hazelnut)
*1 tsp. salt
*3 and 3/4 cups bread flour
*1/2 cup sugar (sugar substitutes will also work!)
*3 Tbsp. dry milk ( I use Carnation non-fat)
*2 tsp. active dry yeast
*3/4 cup raisins (golden raisins and craisins taste great too!)
*1 and 1/2 tsp. shredded orange peel ( I have also used dried orange peel from the baking aisle)

Steps:

  • 1)measure and add liquid ingredients to the bread pan.
  • 2)Measure and add dry ingredients (except yeast) to the bread pan.
  • 3)Use our finger to for a well (hole) in the flour where you will pour the yeast. Yeast must NEVER come into contact with a liquid when you are adding ingredients. Measure the yeast and carefully pour it into the well.
  • 4)Snap the baking pan into the bread maker and close the lid.
  • 5) Using the select button, choose the Sweet setting.
  • 6) Press the "Crust Color" button to choose your preferred crust (light, medium or dark)
  • 7) Press the Start/Stop button.

2 tablespoons white sugar
1 (.25 ounce) package bread machine yeast
¼ cup vegetable oil
3 cups bread flour
1 teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • Place the water, sugar and yeast in the pan of the bread machine. Let the yeast dissolve and foam for 10 minutes. Add the oil, flour and salt to the yeast. Select Basic or White Bread setting, and press Start.
