Treat your guests to these delicious candies that are made using chocolate, strawberries and almonds - perfect dessert for gift giving.

4 cups semisweet chocolate chips (24 oz)
3 cups miniature marshmallows
2 cups chopped dried strawberries
1 cup unblanched whole almonds, coarsely chopped

Steps:

  • Line 15x10x1-inch pan with waxed paper; spray paper with cooking spray. Fill 3-quart saucepan half full with water; heat to simmering. In 2-quart heatproof bowl, place chocolate chips; place bowl over pan of simmering water. Cook 4 to 5 minutes or until melted and chips can be stirred smooth. Remove from heat. Stir in marshmallows just until blended.
  • Spread mixture in pan. Sprinkle with strawberries and almonds; press gently to adhere to chocolate. Refrigerate 1 hour or until set. Break candy into irregular pieces. Store in refrigerator.

Found this years ago in a magazine, I have added the coconut to it so if you are not keen on that ingredient just leave it out. In The Netherlands I have a hard time finding mini marshmallows so I cut up large ones. Chilling time not included.

16 ounces dark chocolate or 16 ounces milk chocolate, whatever you prefer.
3 cups mini marshmallows
1 cup walnuts or 1 cup pecans
1/2 cup desiccated coconut (dried, shredded)

Steps:

  • Melt the chocolate in the top of a double boiler.
  • Line an 8x8 tin with foil (you can butter one but this is easy to lift out and peel away).
  • In a large bowl mix the marshmallows, nuts and the coconut.
  • Add the melted chocolate, mix well.
  • Spread into the prepared tin.
  • Chill, when firm cut into small pieces.

1 cup miniature marshmallows

Steps:

  • Place the candy bars in a microwave safe bowl, and cook in the microwave on Low until melted, approximately 5 minutes. Stir and allow to cool enough to prevent the marshmallows from melting when added to the chocolate. Once cool, stir in the marshmallows and pour into a 8x8 inch baking dish. Refrigerate until firm, about 2 hours. Break into pieces to serve.
