EDIBLE JEWELRY

Edible Jewelry image

I came up with this idea as an activity for a toddler's birthday party. It is a great activity for a rainy day, or prior to a long trip, for a wearable, less-mess snack.

STRING AND EAT NECKLACES

String and Eat Necklaces image

Kids can have fun making food by the foot with "O's" and candies that may just be in your cupboard.

Provided by Betty Crocker Kitchens

Categories     Dessert

Time 45m

Yield 4

Number Of Ingredients 6

4 pieces (about 36 inches each) red shoestring licorice
1/3 cup Cheerios™ cereal
1 roll (1.5 oz) brightly colored, ring-shaped gummy candy
1 package (1 1/4 oz) pastel-colored tube-shaped licorice candies
1/2 cup colored miniature marshmallows
1 tablespoon powdered sugar

Steps:

  • Onto each piece of shoestring licorice, string an arrangement of cereal, candies and marshmallows (to prevent stickiness, dip 1 end of licorice into powdered sugar before poking licorice through each marshmallow).
  • When each licorice is 3/4 full, tie ends of licorice together into a double knot to make a necklace.
