Ingredients

2 tablespoons shortening
1 teaspoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon mustard
3/4 cup maple syrup
1 tablespoon vinegar
1 teaspoon cornstarch
1 package hot dog
1 package hamburger bun

Steps:

Simmer first 6 ingredients in a saucepan for 8-10 minutes or until sauce is smooth and thick. Cut hot dogs halfway through in several places along one side only. Place on cookie sheet and grill, basting with sauce several times (as they cook the hot dogs will form circle). Place rounded hot dogs on toasted hamburger buns and fill center with baked beans. Editor's Extra: Use the longer weiners and cut each one 10-12 times. These are so cute, kid-friendly, and fun to serve.

1 cup maple syrup
1 cup ketchup
1 cup finely chopped onion
1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup lemon juice
1/4 cup water
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons minced garlic
2 teaspoons grated lemons, rind of
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon hot sauce (to taste)

Steps:

Combine all ingredients in a saucepan.
Bring to a boil and reduce heat and simmer 20 minutes.
Let cool then pour mixture into an electric blender or food processor and process until smooth.
Refrigerate sauce up to one month.
