Steps:
- In a medium size saucepan over medium heat, mix together all ingredients except for the slurry. Cook and stir til well combined and heated through. Allow mixture to boil, stirring often. Reduce heat to a simmer and let cook for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Then add in the slurry. Stir and cook about another 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool. Pour into glass jar and refrigerate until ready to use.
SWEET BABY RAY'S BARBECUE SAUCE (COPYCAT)
A copycat of the famous Sweet Baby Ray's Barbecue Sauce. In my experience there is little to no need for the cornstarch slurry, but it's there as an optional step in case you want your sauce thick. Personally I just use a little of the slurry because the 10-15 minutes simmering time would already reduce the sauce and it would continue to thicken while cooling.

- SIMMER: When it starts bubbling, lower the heat so it just simmers and allow it to cook for 5-7 minutes until it thickens. Keep in mind the sauce will thicken even further as it cools so you don’t want to cook it too much longer than that.
- SERVE: brush on meats or poultry when grilling, as a sauce for pizza, or as a base for dips and dressings!
