These salmon crescents are delicious, quick, and easy. This recipe combines the spices from the few salmon melt, salmon patty, and salmon loaf recipes I could find. I hope you enjoy it as much as my husband and I do.

1 (14.5 ounce) can salmon, drained
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
1 large egg
1 tablespoon spicy brown mustard
1 tablespoon mayonnaise
1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives
2 teaspoons seafood seasoning (such as Old Bay®)
1 teaspoon dried minced onion
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper
2 (8 ounce) cans refrigerated reduced-fat crescent rolls (such as Pillsbury®)
1 serving olive oil cooking spray

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • De-bone/skin canned salmon as preferred.
  • Mix salmon, Cheddar cheese, egg, mustard, mayonnaise, chives, seafood seasoning, minced onion, and red pepper together in a bowl.
  • Separate crescent roll dough. Spoon 1 to 2 tablespoons of salmon mixture into the center of each unrolled piece of dough, wrap the edges, and pinch to seal. Place rolls onto an ungreased cookie sheet, 1 to 2 inches apart. Poke the tops with a fork and spray with cooking spray.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until golden, 10 to 15 minutes. Let cool before serving.

This Spicy Salmon Roll is perfect for sushi lovers who want to make their own. Delicious, easy to make, and versatile, this recipe is a must!

1 recipe sushi rice
8 oz imitation crab sticks
3 Tbsp Japanese mayonnaise
1 avocado (ripe)
1/2 English cucumber
8 sheets toasted nori seaweed? (Cut in half)
Toasted sesame seeds
Black sesame seeds
8 oz raw Atlantic salmon
Spicy mayo

Steps:

  • Make the sushi rice according to the sushi rice recipe. I highly recommend using this rice cooker. Then let it cool. Note: my recipe makes 8 rolls. But you can cut this in half if needed.
  • Now slice the salmon into strips 1/4 inch thick. TIP: only use farm-raised Atlantic salmon that has been previously frozen to prevent harmful bacteria. Once the salmon is cut, set it aside in the fridge.
  • Finely chop 8 oz of imitation crab meat and place it into a bowl and mix it with 3 Tbsp of kewpie Japanese mayonnaise. Then set it aside.
  • Then slice up 1 avocado and 1/2 of an English cucumber into strips.
  • Now wrap your sushi mat in plastic wrap. This will make your life a lot easier when it comes to cleaning.
  • Place 1 sheet of toasted seaweed on top of the sushi mat and cut off 1/4 of it with scissors. You don't have to do this but I find that if you use the full sheet, you end up with too much rice vs filling.
  • Now wet your hands in a bowl of water and grab a handful of rice and begin spreading a thin even layer of sushi rice on top of the seaweed. Be careful not to press on the rice too hard, or you'll end up with a mashed up mess. Continuously wetting your hands will prevent the rice from sticking to your fingers.
  • Now sprinkle toasted white sesame seeds along with black sesame seeds on top of the rice. Then flip the entire sheet of seaweed over.
  • Now, in the middle of the seaweed, add about 1 oz of the imitation crab meat mixture, a few strips of cucumber, two slices of avocado, and 1 strip of raw salmon.
  • Now, this is the tricky part. While turning in the front of the nori with the sushi mat, slightly compress the inner ingredients. Keep rolling the sushi with the sushi mat, making sure to keep the roll tight.
  • Place the sushi roll onto a cutting board and use a sharp wet knife, cut the sushi into 8 equal pieces. I usually wet the knife before each slice.
  • Then top with spicy mayo and serve with soy sauce and wasabi.

Soy-Glazed Salmon Hand Rolls image

Unagi sauce is a sweet, thickened soy sauce traditionally used on grilled eel. Here, the simple sauce of soy sauce, sugar and mirin is enhanced with the addition of aromatic garlic and ginger, transforming it into a savory glaze for buttery salmon. Once the salmon is roasted and lacquered in the sauce, it becomes the perfect filling for customizable hand rolls. A perfect roll is assembled with the flaked salmon and some creamy avocado and crisp cucumbers for bites that are rich, fresh and crunchy all at once. Including cooked short-grain rice in the filling is traditional, but these rolls would be a great place to use other leftover grains like farro or quinoa.

3 tablespoons neutral oil, such as safflower or canola
1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
1/3 cup low-sodium soy sauce
1/3 cup mirin
3 tablespoons granulated sugar
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt (Diamond Crystal), plus more for seasoning
1/2 teaspoon peeled grated ginger
1 (1 1/2-pound) skinless salmon fillet (preferably center-cut)
Toasted seaweed sheets, quartered
Cooked short-grain rice and wasabi paste (optional), for serving
3 Persian cucumbers, halved crosswise and cut lengthwise into thin spears
1 to 2 avocados, pitted and thinly sliced

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 425 degrees. In a small saucepan, heat 2 tablespoons of the oil over medium. Stir in garlic until fragrant, 30 seconds. Add soy sauce, mirin, sugar, black pepper and ¼ teaspoon salt, and bring to a simmer. Reduce heat to medium-low and cook, stirring occasionally, until sauce is reduced by about a third and has thickened slightly, 10 to 15 minutes. Stir in ginger and remove from heat. You should have about ½ cup sauce; reserve half of the sauce in a small bowl for serving and set aside.
  • Line a sheet pan with aluminum foil. Place salmon on the prepared sheet, rub with the remaining 1 tablespoon oil and season with salt. Coat the salmon on both sides with the other half of the sauce.
  • Roast salmon for 5 minutes, then baste with the sauce that's dripped onto the sheet tray. Continue to roast until salmon is just cooked to medium, about 5 minutes longer. Transfer salmon to a large plate.
  • Flake salmon into bite-size pieces and drizzle with the reserved sauce. To build hand rolls, top seaweed with some rice (if using), cucumbers, avocado and salmon. Wrap and enjoy. Serve with optional wasabi on the side, and dab a little onto the salmon for a spicy hit.

1 1/4 pounds carrots, cut into 1-inch pieces
2 medium red onions, cut into 1-inch wedges
1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
Coarse salt and ground pepper
8 skinless salmon fillets (2 pounds total)
1/2 pound orzo
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 tablespoons chopped fresh dill
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 450 degrees, with racks in middle and lower thirds. On a rimmed baking sheet, toss carrots and onions with oil and season with salt and pepper. Roast on middle rack until tender and onions are golden, about 20 minutes, stirring halfway through. Line another rimmed baking sheet with parchment. Season salmon with salt and pepper and roast on bottom rack until opaque throughout, about 12 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, in a large pot of boiling salted water, cook orzo according to package instructions. Drain, return to pot, and toss with butter, dill, parsley, and lemon juice. Season with salt and pepper. Transfer 4 salmon fillets and 1 cup vegetables to an airtight container; refrigerate, up to 3 days. Serve remaining salmon fillets and vegetables with herbed orzo.

1/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
2 tablespoons chopped fresh or 1/2 teaspoon dried basil leaves
1 teaspoon grated lemon peel
8 oz fresh asparagus spears
1 medium red or yellow bell pepper, cut into 1/4-inch-wide strips
2 teaspoons olive or vegetable oil
1/2 teaspoon red and black pepper blend
1/2 teaspoon lemon-pepper seasoning
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1 lb salmon fillet, 3/4 to 1 inch thick

Steps:

  • Heat closed medium-size contact grill for 5 minutes. In small bowl, mix butter, basil and lemon peel; set aside.
  • In large bowl, toss asparagus spears and bell pepper with 1 teaspoon of the oil and 1/4 teaspoon each of the pepper blend, lemon-pepper seasoning and garlic salt. Place vegetables crosswise on grill. Close grill. Grill 4 to 6 minutes or until vegetables are crisp-tender. Remove from grill; cover to keep warm.
  • Cut salmon into 4 serving-size pieces. Brush salmon with remaining 1 teaspoon oil; sprinkle with remaining 1/4 teaspoon each of the seasonings. Place salmon, skin side down, on grill. Close grill. Grill 4 to 5 minutes or until salmon flakes easily with fork. Serve butter mixture with salmon and vegetables.
