This is something my Mom made for us as kids, so I class it as kid friendly. I still make this on a regular basis when I'm looking for some warm comfort.

Number Of Ingredients 7

Ingredients

1 medium onion, diced
2 beef hot dogs (there would be 8 in a 1lb pkg)
1 (10 1/2 ounce) can vegetable soup, condensed
1 (10 1/2 ounce) can water
1/3 cup instant rice
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 cup fresh parsley, minced

Steps:

Preheat oven to 350°F.
Dice onion and add to a 2 qt casserole dish that has a lid.
Slice weiners into 1/2 inch thick coins and add to onion.
Mix soup into weiners & onion.
Add water and stir until soup is dissolved.
Add rice, black pepper, parsley & stir again.
Bake for 10 minutes with lid off.
Remove from oven & stir.
Bake for an additional 25-35 minutes with lid on.

This is simple and tastes great! It makes a nice accompaniment to a main dish at lunch, dinner or picnic.

Ingredients

8 beef frankfurters
4 tablespoons barbeque sauce
2 teaspoons dry mustard
2 (16 ounce) cans baked beans with pork

Steps:

In a saucepan filled with water, boil the frankfurters for about 5 minutes.
In another saucepan, combine barbeque sauce, dry mustard and baked beans. Stir and heat.
When the frankfurters are cooked, combine them with the sauce mixture for about 10 to 15 minutes or until heated through.

My girlfriend invented it. I thought it was weird at first, but now 15 years later my kids and hubby love it too!

Ingredients

6 -8 hot dogs (beef)
4 cups instant rice
1 -2 stalk celery
1 small onion
1 -2 tablespoon soy sauce

Steps:

Make instant rice as directed on box (I add some soy sauce to water if desired).
While rice is cooking, cut up hot dogs, onion and celery and fry in butter or margarine.
Once rice is ready, add hot dog mixture to rice add some soy sauce if wanted.
This goes great with stir frys.

Ingredients

1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup chopped green pepper
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 cup uncooked long grain rice
1-1/2 cups water, divided
5 hot dogs, halved lengthwise and cut into 1/2-inch slices
1 can (14-1/2 ounces) stewed tomatoes, undrained
3 tablespoons ketchup

Steps:

In a large skillet, saute onion and green pepper in oil until tender. Add rice; cook and stir for 2-3 minutes. Add 1-1/4 cups water and hot dogs. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 20-25 minutes. Add the tomatoes, ketchup and remaining water. Cover and cook until rice is tender.
