Time 25m

Number Of Ingredients 13

2 lbs chicken wings, (split)
1/2 tsp sea salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1 tsp smoked paprika
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1 tbsp baking powder
1/4 cup salted butter
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, (finely grated)
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp pepper
fresh parsley, (chopped, for garnish)

Steps:

  • Pat the chicken wings dry.
  • Brush 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of oil on the bottom of the air fryer basket.
  • Preheat air fryer to 400°F. for 3 minutes.
  • Combine the seasoning mix for the wings: salt and pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder and baking powder.
  • Toss the chicken wings in this seasoning mix until well coated.
  • Add the wings to the air fryer basket in a single layer. You may have to cook these in two batches, depending on the size of your air fryer. Cooking the wingettes and the drumettes separately helps to ensure even cooking.
  • Set the temperature to 400°F. and the timer for 10 minutes.
  • Check after 10 minutes, then use tongs to flip the wings over and cook for an additional 5 - 10 minutes, checking after 3 minutes with an instant-read meat thermometer. Chicken should be cooked to a minimum 165°F.
  • Meanwhile, combine sauce ingredients. In a small saucepan, melt butter, add remaining ingredients and mix well.
  • Just before serving, toss the cooked wings with the Garlic Parmesan Sauce.
  • Sprinkle with fresh chopped parsley and serve.

AIR FRYER GARLIC PARMESAN CHICKEN WINGS

Air Fryer Garlic Parmesan Chicken Wings image

Air Fryer Garlic Parmesan Wings are crispy and delicious. Made from fresh wings with spices and grated parmesan cheese, these wings are ready for munching and dipping!

Provided by Simply Air Fryer

Categories     Appetizers

Time 23m

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 pound chicken wings (drumettes and wingettes)
1 teaspoon avocado oil
1/4-1/2 teaspoon salt (see notes)
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/3 cup grated parmesan
1 tablespoon melted butter
1/2-1 teaspoon garlic powder

Steps:

  • If your chicken wings (drumettes and wingettes) are quite moist, place them on a plate and use a paper towel to pat them dry. If your chicken wings are without excess moisture, then you can skip this drying step.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Add the wings into a medium mixing sized bowl. Then also add in oil, salt, and pepper. Toss everything until the wings are evenly coated.
  • Once the air fryer is hot, add the wings to the air fryer. The wings should be in one even layer in the tray so that they can cook and crisp evenly. If this amount of wings is too much for your air fryer, cook the wings in two batches.
  • Cook the chicken wings for 14 minutes (they won't be done yet!). Flip the wings halfway through the cooking time.
  • While the wings are cooking, grate the parmesan cheese and melt the butter.
  • Once the 14 minutes are up, remove the chicken wings from the air fryer and place them into a clean bowl. Don't turn the air fryer off yet! Drizzle the melted butter on top of the wings then sprinkle the parmesan cheese and the garlic powder on top, too. Toss the wings in these new ingredients to coat them.
  • Place the chicken wings back into the air fryer and cook for another 4-6 minutes until fully cooked and the parmesan cheese has slightly browned.
  • When cooked, remove the chicken wings and serve them with cut-up carrot and celery sticks as well as your favorite dipping sauce (optional).

Time 55m

Yield 3 to 4 servings

Number Of Ingredients 16

2 pounds chicken wings, separated into drumettes and flats
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
4 ounces Parmigiano-Reggiano, cut into small cubes
1 tablespoon chopped fresh rosemary leaves
4 large cloves garlic, roughly chopped
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon sweet paprika
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/4 cup grated Parmigiano-Reggiano
1/4 cup heavy whipping cream
1/4 cup crème fraîche
1 tablespoon chopped chives
1/4 teaspoon sweet paprika
Pinch cayenne pepper
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper

Steps:

  • For the chicken wings: Toss the wings with the 1 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper in a large bowl and set aside.
  • Place the cubed cheese in a food processor and pulse 6 to 8 times until the cubes break up into smaller pieces, then process until the cheese resembles coarse sand, about 30 seconds. Transfer the cheese to a large bowl and reserve 2 to 3 tablespoons in a small bowl for sprinkling on the cooked wings if desired.
  • Place the rosemary and garlic in the food processor and process until the garlic is finely chopped. Transfer to the large bowl with the cheese. Whisk in the flour, cornstarch, paprika, cayenne, 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper. Place half of the seasoned flour on a rimmed baking sheet. Set the wings on top and pour the remaining seasoned flour over the wings. Press the wings firmly into the seasoned flour until they are completely coated.
  • Preheat a 6-quart air fryer to 390 degrees F for 3 minutes. Working in batches, lay the wings in the air fryer in a single layer so they are not touching. Cook, flipping after about 7 minutes, until the wings start to brown and become crispy, 15 minutes total. Transfer the wings to a platter and sprinkle with the reserved 2 to 3 tablespoons of cheese.
  • Meanwhile, make the sauce.
  • For the sauce: Combine the cheese and cream in a small saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring frequently, until the cheese melts into the cream, 3 to 4 minutes. Stir in the crème fraîche and cook until warmed through, 1 to 2 minutes. Transfer to a small bowl and stir in the chives, paprika, cayenne, 1/4 teaspoon salt and 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon black pepper.
  • Serve the wings with the sauce on the side for dipping.
