- Add all of the ingredients to a medium size glass bowl.
- Using an immersion blender, blend all of the ingredients together.
- Pour the marinade into a glass jar and screw on the lid. Let the flavors meld in refrigerator overnight.
- When ready to use, place the meat in a zip lock bag. Pour enough of the marinade over the meat so that it is covered with the seasoning.
- Marinate for at least 1 hour or up to 24 hours. The longer it marinates, the better the seasoning penetration.
- If you're marinating chicken, marinate under 2 hours. The texture of the meat does not do well with long marinates in acidic liquids such as vinegars or citrus.

ALL PURPOSE TERIYAKI MARINADE
My mother-in-law gave me a marinade recipe for chicken wings back in the days before teryaki was a common household word. Through the years, I have adjusted it to suit my family's taste. I mentioned the brand name because I feel it has the best flavor. Light soy is even more important for the even taste.

- If marinating wings, cut several slits through the skin.

ALL PURPOSE HAWAIIAN MARINADE
I originally concocted this recipe for a party I hostessed. I used it on chicken thighs and legs, but since then, I've tried it beef and pork, as well. - In a large bowl, mix all ingredients together. Allow meat to marinate in zip top baggies for 12 to 48 hours.
- Remove meat from bags and pour marinade into sauce pan. Bring to boil over medium high heat and for 10 minutes.
- Baste meat with marinade in between flips on the grill.
