2 cups water
1 pinch salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 tablespoon brown sugar (packed)
3/4 cup applesauce
candy sprinkles (optional)

Steps:

  • Mix the water, oats, salt, cinnamon, ginger, and vanilla in medium sauce pan.
  • Bring to a boil and reduce heat to just above medium.
  • Continue boiling for 3 minutes.
  • Add sugar and stir.
  • Add applesauce and stir.
  • Scoop into bowls and add small amount of milk (do not stir).
  • Top with sprinkles 4 fun!

1-3/4 cups applesauce
1 cup quick-cooking oats
1/2 cup butter-flavored shortening
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 egg
1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
FROSTING:
2 cups confectioners' sugar
2 tablespoons butter, softened
2 tablespoons milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps:

  • In a small saucepan, bring the applesauce to a slow boil. Stir in oats; remove from the heat. Cover and let stand for 20 minutes., In a large bowl, cream shortening and brown sugar. Add egg; mix well. Combine the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, salt and cloves; add to the creamed mixture alternately with applesauce mixture. , Pour into a greased 8-in. square baking pan. Bake at 350° for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack., In a large bowl, combine the frosting ingredients; beat until smooth. Frost cooled cake.

4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
1 cup packed light-brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1/2 cup chunky-style applesauce
1 1/2 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon coarse salt
1 cup golden raisins
1 3/4 cups confectioners' sugar
3 tablespoons pure maple syrup

Steps:

  • Make cookies: Preheat oven to 350. Put butter and sugars in the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment. Mix on low speed until combined. Add egg and applesauce, mix until well blended, 2 to 3 minutes. Mix in oats, flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Mix in raisins.
  • Using a 1 1/2-inch ice cream scoop, drop dough onto baking sheets lined with parchment paper, spacing 2 inches apart. Bake cookies until golden and just set, 13 to 15 minutes. Let cool on sheets 5 minutes. Transfer cookies to a wire rack set over parchment paper; let cool completely.
  • Make icing: Whisk confectioners' sugar, syrup, and 3tablespoons water until smooth. Drizzle over cookies, let set.

Steps:

4 tablespoons butter, melted
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons maple syrup
2 eggs
1 cup applesauce
1 1/2 cups milk
3 cups oatmeal (quick or regular)
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 cup raisins (optional)
brown sugar
milk

Steps:

  • Mix all wet ingredients and combine with dry ingredients. If raisins are use, plump by letting raisins sit in warm water for 10 minutes. May add more cinnamon to taste.
  • Pour into greased 9 x 9 inch baking dish. Place in refrigerator overnight for oatmeal to dissolve into liquid.
  • Bake in a 350 degree oven for 30 minutes.
  • Top with brown sugar and milk when served.
