1 can (11 oz) refrigerated Pillsbury™ Original French Bread
1 tablespoon butter, melted
1/3 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
1 tablespoon real crumbled bacon bits

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. Line cookie sheet with foil. Place dough, seam side down, on cookie sheet.
  • Cut half-inch deep slashes 1 inch apart with sharp knife on top of dough. Brush dough with melted butter. Insert cheese into each slash. Sprinkle bacon bits on top of dough.
  • Bake 25 to 27 minutes or until deep golden brown. Cool 5 minutes before slicing.

1 loaf French Bread
2/3 cups butter, softened
1/3 cup chopped green onions
4 teaspoons prepared mustard
1 teaspoon garlic salt
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
6 cooked bacon strips

Steps:

  • Cut bread lengthwise down the center.
  • In a bowl, combine butter, green onions, garlic salt and mustard. Set aside.
  • In another medium bowl, crumble the bacon and mix together with the shredded cheese. Set aside.
  • Spread the butter mixture evenly over the open face portion of the bread.
  • Sprinkle the cheese bacon mixture over the spread.
  • Place loaf on a foil lined baking sheet.
  • Bake at 400 degrees for 20-25 min or until the cheese is melted and golden brown.

1 cup grated Monterey Jack cheese
1 cup grated Cheddar cheese
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
8 slices bacon, partially cooked and chopped
2 green onions, white parts thinly sliced, green parts thinly sliced and reserved separately for garnish
1 round artisan or sourdough loaf
1 stick (8 tablespoons) salted butter, melted
2 tablespoons ranch dressing mix

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Put the Monterey Jack, Cheddar, parsley, bacon and onion whites in a bowl and mix well.
  • Cut the bread in strips in one direction, being careful not to cut all the way through the loaf. Rotate the bread 90 degrees and cut in the other direction to create small squares across the top of the loaf. Move slowly and use caution. Place the bread on a large sheet of aluminum foil.
  • Stuff the cheese mixture in between the rows of squares. Mix the melted butter and ranch dressing, then drizzle over the top. Wrap the loaf in the foil and bake for 25 minutes. Open the foil and continue to bake until heated through and the cheese is melted and bubbly, another 10 minutes. Sprinkle with the onion greens and serve immediately.

1 tablespoon oil (2 Tbsp)
1 teaspoon salt (1 1/4 tsp)
2 tablespoons sugar (2 Tbsp plus 1 1/2 tsp)
2 tablespoons nonfat dry milk powder (3 Tbsp)
1 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast (2 tsp)
1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded (2 c)
6 slices crisp bacon, crumbled (8 slices)

Steps:

  • Place ingredients in bread pan in order listed or according to manufacturer' s directions.
  • The cheddar cheese and bacon are added at the fruit and nut signal. Depending on your machine this could be anywhere from 30 to 40 minutes into the cycle.
  • Remember, when adding the yeast last, make a small well with your finger to place the yeast. This will insure the proper timing of the yeast reaction. This bread is processed at the Basic (Standard) or Rapid cycle, or according to manufacturer' s directions.

1 pound bacon strips
1 medium sweet red pepper, finely chopped
8 green onions, thinly sliced
1/2 cup chopped oil-packed sun-dried tomatoes
8 slices white bread, cubed
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
6 large eggs, lightly beaten
1-1/2 cups 2% milk
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground mustard
1/8 teaspoon pepper

Steps:

  • In a large skillet, cook bacon in batches until crisp; drain on paper towels. Crumble into a small bowl. Add red pepper, onions and tomatoes. In a greased 13x9-in. baking dish, layer half each of the bread, bacon mixture and cheese. Top with remaining bread and bacon mixture., In another bowl, combine eggs, milk, mayonnaise and seasonings. Pour over top. Sprinkle with remaining cheese. Cover and refrigerate overnight., Remove from the refrigerator 30 minutes before baking. Preheat oven to 350°. Bake, covered, 40 minutes. 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 1/2 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons double-acting baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1/8 teaspoon cayenne
1/4 cup unsalted butter
1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, grated
1 large egg
1 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
5 slices bacon, cooked, drained and crumbled
1 cup black olives, chopped

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375°F.
  • In a bowl combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, dry mustard and the cayenne. Add the butter and blend the mixture until it resembles meal. Stir in the cheddar cheese gently.
  • In a small bowl whisk together the egg, buttermilk and the Worcestershire sauce; stir the mixture into the flour mixture until it is not quite combined.
  • Add the bacon and olives and stir once again briefly until the dough is just combined.
  • Turn the batter into a well buttered loaf pan and bake the bread for 30 to 40 minutes, or until a tester comes out clean. Let the bread cool in the pan on a rack for 5 minutes, then turn it out onto the rack and let it cool completely.
