WATERMELON BASIL LEMONADE
This can be used with good silver tequila to create a memorable watermelon-basil margarita. Just add juice of 1 lime per cocktail. Recipe courtesy of Tillman's Roadhouse

- Combine in a stainless steel pot the water and sugar. Zest 4 of the lemons into the water and bring to a boil. Reduce to a simmer for 5 minutes. Turn off heat and strain the lemon zest out. Add to the ice to chill.
- While water is coming to a boil, squeeze the juice from all 8 lemons in a blender. Add in basil and watermelon. Puree until smooth.
- Once the lemon syrup is cold, combine with the basil-watermelon puree. Stir well and let sit in the cooler for 1 hour before drinking to allow time for the flavors to meld.
WATERMELON LEMONADE

- In blender, place watermelon. Cover; blend on medium speed about 45 seconds or until smooth. Strain through fine mesh strainer into 2-quart or larger pitcher.
- Squeeze juice from lemons and limes; add to watermelon puree. Stir in cold water and sugar. Refrigerate 1 hour.
- Stir before serving. Serve over ice. Garnish with watermelon slice.

BASIL-INFUSED WATERMELON LEMONADE
We loved the freshness of this lemonade! The basil flavor is surprisingly light and really adds an earthy lift. This recipe is rather labor intensive, but it's WELL worth it. Make it as-is for the whole family, or experiment with it as a cocktail mixer.

- Combine 1 cup of water and sugar in a small saucepan; bring to a boil. Reduce heat, and simmer for 5 minutes or until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and stir in the basil. Let chill for 1 hour. Strain sugar mixture through a sieve over a bowl, and discard basil.
- Place watermelon in a blender; process until smooth.
- Pour watermelon puree through a fine sieve into a large bowl, reserving liquid; discard solids. Combine watermelon liquid, sugar mixture, and juice in a pitcher; chill.
- Garnish with fresh lemon slices and basil sprigs and serve! VARIATION: Add about 8 ice cubes to the watermelon before blending. Do not strain when done. The result is more like a frozen lemonade or virgin margarita.
BASIL LEMONADE
I tweaked this recipe it to make a refreshing drink. I love basil and this recipe has a wonderful basil-infused flavor. Delicious on a warm day or with grilled chicken. Serve over ice and garnish with fresh basil and lemon slices.

- Stir water, lemonade, sugar, and lime juice together in a pitcher. Add 1/2 cup basil leaves, stir to combine, cover the pitcher, and refrigerate until flavors combine, 8 hours to overnight. Remove basil leaves and discard.

ROSEMARY-INFUSED WATERMELON LEMONADE
This is a recipe I created in an effort to duplicate my favorite lemonade from a cafe in downtown L.A. called, well, 'Lemonade'. I don't like it too sweet, so if you want to add more sugar, cool. But I think that this recipe is perfect. It also makes a great martini served in a sugar-rimmed glass with a garnish of watermelon wedge and a twist of lemon! Simply fabulous!

- Bring the water and sugar to a boil in a small saucepan over high heat. Stir in the rosemary, and set aside to steep for 1 hour.
- Place half of the lemon juice, and half of the watermelon into a blender. Strain the rosemary syrup through a mesh strainer into the blender. Cover, and puree until smooth. Strain into a pitcher, then puree the remaining lemon juice and watermelon. Stir the lemonade before serving over ice.
