A friend of mine got this recipe from her Brazilian friend who says that this shake is very popular during the summer in Brazil. It sounds kind of gross because you might associate avocados with non-sweet foods but I promise it tastes like candy. It's so good!

1 cup milk
1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk, plus more to taste
2 cups crushed ice
2 ripe Hass avocados, pitted

Steps:

  • Blend the milk, sweetened condensed milk and ice in a blender until very smooth. Add the avocado flesh and blend again until smooth. The mixture will be quite thick; add cold water a few tablespoons at a time, blending after each addition, until the mixture is pourable. Taste and add more sweetened condensed milk if you want it sweeter. Serve in chilled glasses with straws.

2 avocados
2 cups whole milk, chilled
3 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons lime juice

Steps:

  • Slice the avocado slowly down the center lengthwise around the seed, starting at the narrower end.
  • Holding the avocado in the palm of one hand, use your other hand to twist and rotate the two halves apart.
  • Using a spoon, slip it under the seed to remove it. Using the same spoon, scrape the green flesh of the fruit and put it in the blender.
  • Next, add all other ingredients to the blender and mix it until smooth. Serve immediately.
