2 tablespoons melted butter or 2 tablespoons oil
2 tablespoons milk or 2 tablespoons chocolate milk
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 dash salt
2 tablespoons white sugar, depending on how sweet you like it
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
4 tablespoons flour
to make triple chocolate add chocolate milk, chocolate chips, and serve with chocolate syrup

Steps:

  • In a coffee mug, add water/milk, melted butter/oil, a dash of salt and vanilla extract. Whisk well.

2 tsp dutch cocoa, (or additional regular)
3 tbsp spelt,
2 tbsp sugar, (or sub erythritol if desired)
scant 1/4 tsp baking powder
1/8 tsp salt
1 tbsp oil or nut butter ((some readers sub applesauce or banana))
3 tbsp milk of choice
1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Notes: If you want to remove the cake before eating it, be sure to grease the mug before starting. If you can't find dutch cocoa, subbing additional regular will still work; it will just have less of a brownie flavor. I haven't tried subbing applesauce or banana for the fat and therefore can't vouch for the taste of that substitution.If baking, preheat oven to 350 F. Combine all ingredients in a mug or 1-cup dish (or two 1/2-cup dishes). Either bake around 14 minutes, OR microwave until set. Microwave times will vary depending on wattage and if using one or two dishes - I cooked mine for 1 minute, followed by two 10-second increments. 4 tablespoons (1/4 cup) all-purpose flour
4 tablespoons (1/4 cup) unsweetened cocoa powder
3 1/4 tablespoons dark brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
A pinch of salt
6 tablespoons regular or dairy-free
2 tablespoons any neutral vegetable oil (I used sunflower oil)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon semi-sweet chocolate chunks or chips
2 tablespoons chopped walnuts
For serving (optional):
Chocolate walnuts
Whipped cream of vanilla ice cream
Berries of your choice
Chocolate or caramel sauce
NOTE: Some ingredients can be replaced with their vegan counterparts.

Steps:

  • In a microwave-safe mug, add flour, cocoa, sugar, vanilla, salt, baking powder, oil, and milk.
  • Whisk briskly until you get a smooth lump-free batter.
  • Add in the 2 tablespoons chopped walnuts, and 1 tablespoon chocolate chips.
  • Mix again until everything is combined. Clean the edge of the cup.
  • Sprinkle with some chocolate chips/chunks. Using a paper napkin, clean the inner edge of the cup.
  • Cook in a microwave for about 2 minutes at full power. (My microwave is 1000 watts. So you may need to adjust the time. Start with 1 minute 20 seconds, and then an additional 20-30 seconds or until it gets cooked.)
  • At this point, the top of the brownie is cooked perfectly and is no longer wet. Remove it from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before eating.
  • Top with toppings like chopped walnuts, whipped cream, berries, and chocolate sauce. Enjoy it warm.

I also used hersheys special dark cocoa powder instead of regular cocoa, and it came out extra rich and chocolatey. This is a dense, moist and rich mug brownie, perfect with a glass of milk or a scoop of ice cream, enjoy!!!
