This honey beer bread recipe is quick and easy to make with just 6 simple ingredients! See notes above for possible seasonings that you can add in too.

Number Of Ingredients 6

3 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon fine sea salt
1/4 cup honey*
1 bottle (12 ounces) beer
1/4 cup butter, melted

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F.
  • In a large mixing bowl, stir together the flour, baking powder and salt until combined. Slowly pour the beer and honey into the flour mixture, and stir until combined.
  • Pour half of the melted butter into the bottom of a 9×5-inch bread pan, and brush it around to grease the inside of the pan. Add the batter and spread it out in an even layer. Then brush the remaining melted butter evenly on top of the batter.
  • Bake for 40 to 50 minutes, until a toothpick or knife inserted in the middle comes out clean. Remove and transfer the pan to a wire baking rack and let the bread cool for at least 10 minutes.
  • Slice with a bread knife, serve warm and enjoy!

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. In a large bowl, whisk flour and sugar. Stir in honey and beer just until moistened., Transfer to a greased 8x4-in. loaf pan. Bake 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan 10 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool.

3 cups all-purpose flour
1 Tbsp baking powder
1 tsp kosher salt
12 oz beer ((your favorite kind))
5 Tbsp honey
3 - 4 Tbsp melted butter (divided)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F and lightly spray the sides of a 9x5" loaf pan. Set aside.
  • To a mixing bowl, add flour, baking powder and salt, and stir to combine. Pour in the beer and honey and stir until no flour streaks remain.
  • Add half of the melted butter to the bottom of prepared loaf pan and tilt the pan around so the butter coats the bottom of the pan. Transfer batter to pan, spreading it out into an even layer.
  • Pour remaining half of the melted butter over the top of the batter, brushing it around so it evenly coats the top.
  • Bake for 45-50 minutes, until golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean or with just a few moist crumbs.
  • Let bread cool in the pan for 5-7 minutes, then turn out carefully onto a wire rack to finish cooling.

I've been making this quick bread for a few years now, especially when my daughter is over, she's crazy about it! It's a little bit sweet and yeasty, and you can use any kind of beer you want, just make sure it's one you like to drink, because the taste will come through. I usually use an ale, but have used pumpkin beer and just plain beer from the fridge. This is best enjoyed the first day, but it is good toasted the next day. I don't always make the Honey Butter, but it's great on this beer bread!

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup bread flour
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon fine sea salt
3 tablespoons honey
1 (12 ounce) bottle beer
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted and cooled slightly
1/2 cup unsalted butter, at soft room temperature
1 tablespoon honey
1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt

Steps:

  • FOR THE BEER BREAD:.
  • Preheat the oven to 350ºF. Grease a 9 by 5 inch loaf pan with nonstick cooking spray or butter. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together both kinds of flour, the sugar, baking powder and salt. Add in the honey and beer and mix until just combined. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan, then drizzle the melted butter over the top of the batter.
  • Transfer the pan to the oven and place a rimmed baking sheet on the lower rack to catch any butter that may drip from the pan. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, or until a cake tester inserted in the middle comes out clean and the top of the loaf is golden brown. Remove from the oven and set the pan on a wire rack to cool for at least 15 to 20 minutes.
  • FOR THE HONEY BUTTER:.
  • Add the butter, honey and salt to a small bowl and mix until well combined. Taste and adjust the honey / salt as desired. Serve slathered on a piece of warm beer bread!
