Steps:
- Heat butter and sauté chicken pieces for 5 minutes.
- Add shallots and green pepper, stirfry for 3-4 minutes.
- Remove sauteed items.
- Add the oil to the remaining butter.
- Add the whole spices: bay leaves, cinnamon, green cardamom and cloves.
- Add onion, garlic and ginger, and fry until lightly browned.
- Add ground cumin, coriander, turmeric, chili powder, tomato puree and salt.
- Cook gently until the oil separates.
- Reduce heat and slowly add in the yoghurt while stirring.
- Add chicken, shallots, green pepper and cashew-cream paste.
- Spinkle garam masala, simmer for 5 minutes.
- Garnish and serve with naan or rice.

- Combine yogurt, tomato paste, onion, garlic, curry powder, ginger, salt, and pepper in the slow cooker. Add chicken breasts and mix with yogurt sauce.
- Cook on Low until chicken is tender and cooked through, about 8 hours. Shred with 2 forks.

Steps:
- Wash and pat dry chicken.
- Prick the skin with a fork.
- Rub it with a mixture of pepper and ground ginger.
- With string, tie legs and tail of chicken.
- Place chicken breast side-up on rack in open roasting pan.
- Roast at 180°C for 10 minutes.
- Heat sauce in a pan over medium heat.
- Brush skin with sauce.
- Roast the chicken for about 1 1/2 hours, basting frequently with sauce.
- Keep the sauce warm while basting.
- Place the chicken on a heated platter, arrange rice or bread stuffing around it if you desire.
- Mix some dripping from the roasting pan with yogurt sauce and pour some over the chicken.
- Serve the remaining sauce separately.
