1/4 cup butter, melted
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • Place popcorn in a large bowl. Combine butter, chili powder and salt; pour over popcorn. , Spread in a 15x10x1-in. baking pan; sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Broil 6 in. from the heat for 2-3 minutes or until the cheese is melted. Toss well to coat. Store in an airtight container.

1/2 cup popcorn kernels
4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) unsalted butter
1 teaspoon Calabrian chili paste
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt

Steps:

  • Heat a Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add the oil and the popcorn kernels and cover the pan. Cook, shaking occasionally, until the kernels have popped and the popping has slowed to 1 or 2 every second or so. Pour the popcorn into a large bowl. To the hot pan, add the butter and swirl until melted. Add the chili paste and stir to combine. Drizzle the mixture over the popcorn and toss well to coat. Season with the salt and serve.

1/2 cup popcorn kernels

Grated zest of 1 lemon
1/8 teaspoon cayenne

Steps:

  • In a large saucepan or Dutch oven, heat the oil over medium-high heat until nearly smoking. Add the popcorn kernels and immediately cover with a lid. Give the pan a shake and wait until you hear the kernels starting to pop. Shake the pan again, then lower the heat to medium and continue cooking until the popping slows and the kernels are popped, about 2 minutes more. Transfer the popcorn to a large bowl.
  • Melt the butter over medium heat in a small saute pan. Add the lemon zest, cayenne and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Swirl to mingle the flavors. Pour the butter mixture over the popcorn and toss gently to coat. Season with salt and serve.

  • Heat oven to 200C/180C fan/gas 6. Pop the natural microwave popcorn pouch (or popcorn kernels) following pack instructions.

Steps:

  • Heat canola oil in a large pot over medium-high heat; add 1 popcorn kernel to the hot oil. The oil is ready when the kernel pops.
