1 cup mashed bananas
⅓ cup vegetable oil
3 eggs

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour one 13x9 inch pan.
  • Beat cake mix, mashed bananas, oil and eggs with an electric mixer on low speed for 30 seconds. Increase speed to medium and beat for 2 more minutes. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  • Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 33 to 36 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Let cake cool then frost with your choice of frosting, if desired.

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Cream margarine with sugar and eggs.

  • Mix flour with remaining dry ingredients.
  • Add flour mixture to margarine mixture in 3 parts, alternately with sour milk.
  • Begin and end with flour.
  • Spread in 2 greased 8" cake pans.
  • Bake in oven about 40 minutes.
  • When cool, frost generously with chocolate butter frosting.

3/8 cup water

1 1/2 cups cocoa powder
1/8 cup baking soda
1/8 cup baking powder

3 cups sour cream
1/8 cup vanilla extract

1 1/2 cups whole eggs, room temperature

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Mix instant coffee with water set aside for later. Sift flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and baking powder together taking care that all the components are well combined and evenly distributed. In the bowl of a stand mixer, mix the butter and shortening with paddle attachment on 2nd speed until combined. Add sugar, sour cream, vanilla extract, coffee mixture, and salt starting on 1st seed and gradually moving to 2nd speed until light and fluffy (approximately 8 minutes). At 1 1/2 speed add the whole eggs, in small amounts, until smooth and fully incorporated. Add dry ingredients and banana puree in staggering steps to the mixer and blend until well combined.
  • Pour into greased sheet pans or 4 (4 by 13-inch round cake pans and bake for 30 to 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.

100ml sunflower oil, plus extra to grease
175g caster sugar
175g self-raising flour
½ tsp bicarbonate of soda
4 tbsp cocoa powder
100g chocolate chips or chunks
175g very ripe bananas
3 medium eggs, 2 separated
50ml milk
100g milk chocolate
100ml soured cream
handful dried banana chips, roughly chopped

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 160C/140C fan/gas 3. Grease and line a 2lb loaf tin with baking parchment (allow it to come 2cm above top of tin). Mix the sugar, flour, bicarb, cocoa and chocolate in a large bowl.
  • Mash the bananas in a bowl and stir in the whole egg plus 2 yolks, followed by the oil and milk. Beat the egg whites until stiff. Quickly stir the wet banana mixture into the dry ingredients, stir in a quarter of the egg whites to loosen the mixture, then gently fold in the rest. Gently scrape into the tin and bake for 1 hr 10-15 mins, or until a skewer inserted comes out clean.
  • Cool in the tin on a wire rack. To make the icing, melt the chocolate and soured cream together in a heatproof bowl over a pan of barely simmering water. Chill in the fridge until spreadable. Remove cake from tin, roughly swirl icing over and scatter with the banana chips.

1 (18 ounce) pkge. dark chocolate cake mix (without pudding)
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup oil
3 eggs

  • Place mashed bananas and remaining ingredients into mixing bowl. Beat with mixer on low speed for 1 minute.
  • Increase mixer speed to medium and beat for 2 minutes more.

Just incredible. Add nuts for extra flavor. The recipe comes from a Canadian Living cookbook and can be found on the Canadian Living website. 1 ounce melted chocolate
3/4 cup butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar

5 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped
1/2 cup unsalted butter
4 large eggs, room temperature
1/3 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

CARAMELIZED BANANAS:
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 medium bananas, cut into 1-inch slices
2 tablespoons sugar
SAUCE:
1 cup white wine or unsweetened apple juice
1/2 cup sugar
2 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400°. In a microwave, melt chocolate and butter; stir until smooth. Cool. Beat eggs, sugar, vanilla and salt on high speed until thick and pale, about 5 minutes. Sift in flour; mix just until combined. Fold in chocolate mixture., Spoon batter into 8 buttered 4-oz. ramekins dusted with cocoa. Place ramekins on a baking sheet. 1 teaspoon baking powder

1 cup very ripe bananas, mashed
½ cup buttermilk, or as needed

2 tablespoons milk, or as needed

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease 2 9-inch layer cake pans, and line with parchment paper. Whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, baking soda, and 6 tablespoons of cocoa powder in a bowl until thoroughly combined.
  • In a large mixing bowl, mash the butter with the white sugar until blended, then mix in the eggs, one at a time, mixing the egg in before adding the next one. Do you have some bananas that need to be used up? This is a great recipe from Chatelaine Food Express Quickies which uses chocolate cake mix. You can have a lovely cake ready in under 45 minutes. When I made this I used Dr.Oetker Added Touch Devil's Food Cake Mix. The cake mix package size was 520 g and I baked it in a bundt pan for 45 min.

1 (16 ounce) package chocolate cake mix
3 eggs (or as called for by your cake mix)
1/3 cup oil (or as called for by your cake mix)
1 cup water
1/2 cup banana, pureed

Steps:

  • Prepare cake mix following the directions on the package but using only 1 cup of water.
  • Stir in the pureed bananas.
  • Bake in 2 greased 9" square baking pans for 30 minutes (cake is done when toothpick comes out clean).
  • ALTERNATE PANS AND BAKING TIMES:.
  • 1-9X13" pan = 35-40 minute.
  • 2-8" round pans = 35-40 minute.
  • 2-9" round pans = 30-35 minute.
  • 2-8" square pans = 30-35 minute.
  • 24 cupcakes = 20-25 minute.
  • 12 cup fluted pan (bundt pan) = 40-45 minute.

  • Bake 35 to 37 minutes or until toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool completely, about 45 minutes.
