CHOCOLATE-LACED KIWIFRUIT WITH ORANGE SAUCE
Fat-free yogurt provides the base for this "fruit-tas-tic" dessert.

Steps:
- In small bowl, mix yogurt and orange juice concentrate. Spoon 2 tablespoons mixture onto each of 4 dessert plates. Arrange kiwifruit on yogurt mixture.
- In 1-cup microwavable measuring cup, microwave chocolate chips and shortening uncovered on High 30 to 60 seconds, stirring every 15 seconds, until melted and smooth. Carefully drizzle chocolate in thin lines over kiwifruit.

ORANGE AND KIWI COMPOTE WITH TOASTED ALMONDS
Oranges and kiwis are among the fruits highest in calcium; almonds are the nuts with the most. This is a light and refreshing finish to any meal.

Steps:
- Stir first 5 ingredients in small saucepan over medium-high heat until sugar dissolves. Bring to boil. Reduce heat; simmer until liquid is syrupy and slightly reduced, about 8 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla.
- Arrange orange and kiwi slices in shallow bowl. Pour hot syrup and spices over fruit. Chill at least 1 hour and up to 4 hours. Sprinkle almonds over; serve.

This silky rich sauce goes well over all kinds of desserts -- cakes, ice cream, puddings & custards as well as cooked fruits! The recipe was found in the 2005 cookbook, Get Saucy.

Steps:
- In a medium-sized, heavy saucepan, combine cream, corn syrup, sugar & zest, & cook over medium-high heat, stirring, until sugar dissolves & liquid is slightly reduced, about 3 minutes.
- Remove from heat & let cool.
- When cooled, remove zest & cook over metium heat just until hot.
- Turn off the heat, then add chocolates & let sit for 5 minutes without stirring, until melted.
- Whisk until smooth, then add butter & whisk again until smooth.
- If using the Grand Marnier, whisk it in, at this time, then serve hot or warm.
- Will keep, tightly covered, in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks, but it will need to be reheated before serving.
