Here's what you need: bread, cheddar cheese, butter, tomato soup

3 slices bread
3 slices cheddar cheese
1 tablespoon butter
tomato soup, to taste, optional

Steps:

  • Cut crust off the slices of bread. This makes the bread easier to roll and will hold the shape better.
  • Flatten slices of bread with a rolling pin.
  • Layer the slices of cheese on top of each slice of bread so that the cheese is offset from the bread by about 1 inch (2 ½ cm) vertically. Other fillings can be added here if desired.
  • Roll each slice of bread with cheese vertically as tightly as possible without cracking the bread. Gently squeeze each roll to maintain its shape and set down on its seam.
  • Melt the butter in a pan. Grill each roll starting with the seam side down on the hot pan.
  • Rotate so that all sides are evenly golden brown.
  • Enjoy!

Fry for a few minutes until golden, dip into a bowl of tomato soup, and resolve to never make a grilled cheese without mayo ever again!

2 pieces sourdough bread
1 ½ tablespoons unsalted butter
1 ½ tablespoons mayonnaise
3 slices cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • On a cutting board, butter each piece of bread with butter on one side.
  • Flip the bread over and spread each piece of bread with mayonnaise.
  • Place the cheese on the buttered side of one piece of bread. Top it with the second piece of bread, mayonnaise side out.
  • Heat a nonstick pan over medium low heat.
  • Place the sandwich on the pan, mayonnaise side down.
  • Cook for 3-4 minutes, until golden brown.
  • Using a spatula, flip the sandwich over and continue cooking until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Enjoy!

2 tablespoons butter, softened
1/2 teaspoon garlic, minced
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1 egg, lightly beaten
1/4 cup milk
1 cup parmesan cheese, freshly grated
8 slices sourdough French bread
12 ounces turkey breast, thinly sliced
1 avocado, peeled, seeded and thinly sliced
1 tomatoes, thinly sliced
2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
4 slices red onions, separated into rings
4 ounces monterey jack cheese, 4 1oz slices

Steps:

  • In small bowl, combine butter, garlic and crushed red pepper. Stir to blend and set aside.
  • In separate bowl, whisk egg and milk and set aside.
  • Spread Parmesan cheese evenly on large plate and set aside.
  • In large skillet, melt half of the butter mixture over low heat.
  • Working quickly, dip 1 of the bread slices in egg mixture, coating only 1 side. Dip coated side into Parmesan cheese. Place in skillet, cheese side down. Repeat with 3 remaining bread slices.
  • Arrange turkey, avocado and tomato on top of bread slices. Sprinkle with cilantro and top with onion rings and Monterey Jack cheese.
  • Dip remaining 4 bread slices in egg mixture, coating 1 side and dip coated side into Parmesan and place on top of sandwich, cheese side out.
  • Increase heat to medium and cook until bottom is golden brown.
  • Add remaining butter, turn sandwiches to cook and brown the other side.
