You want something more elevated than store-bought chocolate chip cookies, but you don't feel like starting a serious baking endeavor just for yourself. That's why mug cakes are a total godsend. This cookies and cream version is made with just a handful of basic ingredients. Mix everything into a mug and cook it in the microwave for two minutes. Voilà: A single-serve dessert that'll satisfy your sweet tooth.

Steps:
- In a 12-ounce (375 ml) mug or larger, mix all ingredients until just combined.
- Microwave on high for 90 seconds to 2 minutes, watching to make sure it doesn't spill over (depending on the size of the mug).

- Combine white chocolate and 3 tablespoons of milk (reserving the final tablespoon) into an oversized microwaveable mug. Microwave for about 30 seconds. Stir with a fork until chocolate is melted. Chocolate should melt, but it may not be completely smooth. Microwave for another 20 seconds and stir again. Chocolate should be thickened and completely melted and smooth. Add in flour and baking powder. Stir with a small whisk until batter is smooth. It will be quite thick. Add in the additional 1 tbsp milk and stir again. This will loosen the batter. Add in two Oreos. Using fork, smash Oreos into mug. Continue to mash oreos into the batter until only small chunks remain. Microwave for approximately 1 minute. Top of cake should be dry. You can pry edges of cake to check inside of cake with a fork, to make sure it is done cooking. Let cake cool completely in mug so that it sets before eating (about 20 minutes).

- Microwave the butter in a microwave-safe mug in 10-second increments until melted, 20 to 30 seconds. Crack the egg into a small bowl; add the vanilla and whisk to combine using a small whisk or fork. Pour the egg mixture into the mug over the butter and whisk to combine.
- Add the sugar, cocoa powder and salt and whisk until mostly smooth (a few lumps are O.K.). Scrape down the sides the best you can with a spoon or a small silicone spatula. Sprinkle with mini chocolate chips, if desired.
- Cook in the microwave on high for 1 to 1 1/2 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out mostly clean. Sift a little confectioners' sugar on top or serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, if desired. Dig in with a spoon.

- Heat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pan). Grease and lightly flour or spray 15x10x1-inch pan. Make cake batter as directed on box. Pour into pan.
- Bake 20 to 27 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool completely, about 1 hour.
- Fold crushed cookies into frosting. Cut cake crosswise in half. Remove one cake half from pan, using wide spatula to lift cake; place on serving plate. Spread cake with half of the frosting mixture.
