1 teaspoon garlic (chopped)
1/8 cup diced red onion
1/4 cup diced cooked bacon
1/4 cup diced Roma tomatoes
1 cup sliced, cooked chicken
1 ounce heavy (whipping) cream
1 jar Ragu Alfredo sauce (I got the Cheesy kind)
1/8 cup Asiago cheese
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
10 ounces pre-cooked Bowtie pasta

Steps:

  • In a heated sauté pan, combine butter, garlic, onions, bacon, tomatoes, chicken, and spice mixture. When onions begin to turn translucent, add heavy cream and Asiago cheese. Once cheese and cream have reduced by half, add Alfredo sauce and bowtie pasta. Toss until well combined and remove from fire. Allow pasta to cool for a few minutes so the cheese and sauce can thicken.

Another recipe I found in the book "America's Most Wanted Recipes" by Ron Douglas. It is a copycat of Johnny Carino's and I have used store bought Alfredo sauce and also made my own Alfredo sauce and used fresh garlic.

1 cup alfredo sauce
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 pinch salt
1 garlic clove, minced
3 ounces chicken, cooked and sliced
2 tablespoons parmesan cheese, grated
2 tablespoons pecorino romano cheese, grated
2 tablespoons provolone cheese, grated
2 tablespoons mozzarella cheese, grated
2 tablespoons asiago cheese, grated
10 ounces fettuccine, cooked

Steps:

  • In a warm skillet, combine the Alfredo sauce, black pepper, cayenne pepper, salt, garlic and chicken. Cook over low heat stirring until the sauce begins to boil and the chicken is heated through.
  • As the sauce continues to boil, begin to mix in the cheeses until a dense smooth sauce is formed.
  • Remove from the heat, add the pasta, toss and serve.

  • In a large pot, bring 4 – 6 quarts of water to a boil. Add salt to taste (about 1 tsp). Add bow tie pasta to pot, and stir gently. Return to a boil, and cook pasta two minutes less than recommended cooking time (about 7-9 minutes).
  • While the pasta is cooking, chop bacon into 1" pieces. Add bacon to a large skillet. Cook for 6-8 minutes until bacon is cooked through. With a slotted spoon, remove bacon from skillet, and place on a paper towel-lined plate to remove excess grease.
  • Add sliced chicken, diced onion, and minced garlic to the skillet with the bacon fat. Cook for 6-8 minutes until chicken is no longer pink and onions are softened.
