Homemade Shake and Bake Pork Chops image

You can make homemade Shake 'N' Bake Pork Chops in just about 30 minutes with this easy recipe.

3 cup bread crumbs
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon celery salt
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 1/2 pounds pork chops
1/4 cup vegetable oil

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
  • In a gallon-sized zip top bag, place breadcrumbs, salt, black pepper, paprika, celery salt, onion powder, and garlic powder. Seal the bag and shake gently to mix all ingredients.
  • Place vegetable oil on a baking sheet. Spread out in a thin layer.
  • Place one pork chop at a time into the bag, seal the bag, and shake. Place the coated pork chop onto the oiled baking sheet. Repeat with remaining pork chops.
  • If desired, if there is mix still left over, you can gently sprinkle it onto the breaded pork chops, and pat the seasoned mix into the pork chop. Discard seasoning mix after use.
  • Bake for 15 minutes, then flip over the pork chop. and cook for the remaining 10 minutes.

  • Combine all ingredients and mix until well blended and there are no big clumps.
  • Transfer to airtight container.
  • To Use:
  • Preheat oven to 400 for Pork or 425 for Chicken.
  • Pour some of mixture to large zippered bag.
  • Wet each piece of meat and shake off excess water.
  • Place in bag and shake to coat. Shake off excess breading place on baking sheet.
  • Bake pork chops for 15-20 minutes.
  • Bake bone-in chicken for 40-45 minutes.
  • Bake boneless chicken for 20-25 minutes.

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Transfer half of copycat shake and bake mixture to a gallon sized plastic bag or a bowl. This recipe will use 2 to 2-1/2 pounds of bone-in or boneless chicken or pork pieces.
  • Rinse chicken or pork pieces in water and place one piece at a time in a plastic bag. Shake bag until each piece is coated and then place on a foil or parchment lined baking sheet. Continue until all pieces are covered, throw away an excess copycat shake 'n bake left in the bag.
  • Bake bone-in chicken pieces for 45 mins, boneless chicken 20 to 25 minutes. Bake bone-in or boneless pork chops for 20 minutes (1/2" thick pieces). Temperature of chicken should reach 165 degrees F and pork 145 degrees F.

  • Place the cornflakes in a food processor and process until they are crumbs. You should end up with about a 1/2 cup of cornflake crumbs.
  • Add in the rest of the ingredients. This can either be done in the food processor, or the remaining ingredients can be stirred into the crumbs by hand.
  • To use, put your crumb mixture in a bag (I use a large ziploc bag). Moisten chicken pieces with water. Put one or two chicken pieces at a time into the bake and shake to coat with the crumb mixture. Place the coated chicken pieces on a foil lined baking sheet. Bake at 400 degrees. Larger pieces will take about 30 to 40 minutes, and smaller pieces will take 20 to 30 minutes.
