Steps:
- Preheat oven to 250 degrees F (120 degrees C). Lightly butter a large roasting pan.
- Mix corn and rice cereal, pecans, and almonds together in the prepared roasting pan.
- Combine brown sugar, corn syrup, and butter in a saucepan; bring to a boil. Heat to 240 degrees F (115 degrees C) or until a small amount of syrup dropped into cold water forms a soft ball that flattens when removed from the water and placed on a flat surface. Remove saucepan from heat and stir vanilla extract into syrup.
- Drizzle syrup over cereal mixture and toss to coat.
- Bake cereal mixture in the preheated oven for 30 minutes; stir and continue baking for 30 minutes more. Spread cereal mixture in 1 layer onto 2 lightly buttered baking sheets, separating any large chunks with 2 forks; allow to cool.

CRISPIX SNACK MIX
This is similar to the Chex mix but I actually like it a little better. The original recipe calls for garlic and onion salt instead of powder and salted nuts, but I find that too salty.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 250°F.
- Melt butter in 9x13-inch pan in oven. Remove from oven and stir in garlic powder, onion powder, lemon juice, and Worcestershire sauce.
- Add cereal, nuts, and pretzels stirring until coated.
- Bake for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes. Spread on absorbent paper to cool.
- Microwave directions combine ingredients as above, placing in a glass container and microwave on full power 4 minutes stirring after 2 minute
- Cool as above.
KELLOGG'S ORIGINAL CRISPIX MIX RECIPE
This is the recipe that I found inside the box of Crispix Cereal. The ingredients appear to be slightly different from the other posted recipes. NOTES: Dry roasted mixed nuts can be used in place of regular mixed nuts. Reduced calorie margarine can be substituted for regular margarine. - 1. Measure KELLOGG'S CRISPIX cereal into large mixing bowl. Pour oil over cereal, tossing gently to coat evenly. Add taco seasoning, tossing gently until evenly coated. Place on 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1-inch jelly-roll baking pan lined with foil.2. Bake at 250°F about 15 minutes or until lightly browned and cereal is crisp. Cool on paper towels. Store in airtight container. MICROWAVE DIRECTIONS:Prepare snack according to step 1 above, in 4-quart microwave safe bowl. Cook another 2 minutes on full power or until cereal is crisp but not browned. Cool on paper towels.
