This easy Crock Pot Macaroni and Cheese is the creamiest, cheesiest, most addicting mac & cheese you'll ever make! No boiling or layering is required, and the slow cooker takes care of all the hard work.

2 1/2 cups uncooked dry Gluten-Free Cavatappi pasta
2 Tablespoons unsalted butter
10 oz condensed cheddar cheese soup
1 1/2 cups half and half
8 oz shredded sharp cheddar cheese
4 oz shredded Mozzarella cheese
½ cup sour cream
1 1/2 teaspoons salt (or more to taste)
½ teaspoon black pepper (or more to taste)
½ teaspoon dry ground mustard
1 ½ teaspoons garlic powder
¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (or to taste)
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
8 oz evaporated milk
2 slices Provolone cheese
chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
Toasted gluten-free panko crumbs OR crushed pork rinds or grain-free bread crumbs (for garnish (optional))

Steps:

  • Spray a 5-6-quart slow cooker with non-stick spray.Add the dry pasta to the slow cooker. Dot with cubed butter then stir in the condensed cheddar cheese soup, half and half, shredded cheddar, shredded Mozzarella, sour cream, salt, black pepper, mustard, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, Worcestershire and evaporated milk.
  • Stir to combine, making sure that the pasta is covered in as much liquid as possible.
  • Cover and cook on low heat (about 1½ - 2½ hours but total time will vary according to your slow cooker - mine was done at 90 minutes). Check pasta after 30 minutes and stir. Cover and continue cooking. Check and GENTLY stir sides every 30 minutes until pasta is tender and liquid is thick and creamy. Top with Provolone cheese and remaining ½ cup of shredded cheddar cheese. If the mixture is too thick, add more milk as needed. Turn off slow cooker and cover for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese has melted.
  • Serve immediately with freshly chopped parsley and toasted gluten-free panko crumbs, if desired.Transfer any remaining pasta from the slow cooker into a separate casserole dish or pot. If any pasta is left in the slow cooker, even when it's off, it will continue to cook and dry out.

1 pound elbow pasta (uncooked (regular, NOT gluten free, NOT quick cook pasta) We use Barilla brand)
2 1/2 cups milk (whole is best)
12 ounces evaporated milk
12 ounces Extra sharp cheddar (3 cups shredded (from the deli, shred yourself, don't buy bagged))
4 ounces American cheese (or Monterrey) (1 cup shredded (from the deli, not processed slices))
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
Dash of cayenne pepper (to taste)
1/4 cup butter (cubed)

Steps:

  • Spray 6-quart slow cooker with non-stick spray.
  • Rinse the uncooked pasta well in cold water and drain.
  • Add uncooked pasta to crockpot along with milks, cheeses, salt, pepper, mustard, garlic and cayenne pepper. Stir to combine, making sure macaroni is submerged in liquid as much as possible.
  • Dot with cubed butter.
  • Cover and cook on low heat for 1 hour. Remove lid and stir. Depending on your slow cooker, your dish could be done at this point or require UP TO 1-2 more hours.
  • If not done, continue cooking and checking periodically (ever half hour or so).
  • When done, pasta will be tender and liquid will be thick and creamy. Sauce will thicken even more after lid is removed and mac and cheese sits.

8 ounces elbow macaroni, cooked
One 12-ounce can evaporated milk
1 1/2 cups whole milk
1/4 cup (1/2 stick ) of butter, melted
1 teaspoon salt
Dash of pepper
2 large eggs, beaten
Two 10-ounce bricks sharp Cheddar cheese, grated (about 5 cups)
Dash of paprika

Steps:

  • In a large 4-quart slow cooker sprayed with cooking spray, mix the macaroni, evaporated milk, milk, butter, salt, pepper, eggs and all but 1/2 cup of the grated cheese. Sprinkle the reserved cheese over the top of the mixture and then sprinkle with paprika. Cover and cook on low heat for 3 hours and 15 minutes. Turn off the slow cooker, stir the mixture and serve hot.

A sprinkle of cayenne pepper
1/4 cup of butter

Steps:

  • Spray your crockpot with non-stick spray.
  • Rinse your uncooked pasta in a strainer and drain out all the excess water.
  • Add your uncooked pasta to your crockpot along with your milk, cheese, mustard, garlic, salt, pepper, and cayenne. Stir everything well so all the ingredients mix together and make sure the macaroni is in the liquid as much as possible.
  • Add your cubed butter.
  • Cover your crock pot and turn on the low heat and cook for 1 hour. Remove the lid and stir all your ingredients before replacing the lid. Check the consistency because your dish may be done or require an additional 1-2 hours.
  • Check your dish every half hour if it is not done and remember to stir when checking your dish.
  • You will know your mac and cheese is done if the pasta is tender and the liquid is thick and creamy. Once you remove the lid, keep in mind the sauce will thicken even more as the mac and cheese sits.

½ cup butter
salt and ground black pepper to taste
1 (16 ounce) package shredded Cheddar cheese, divided
1 (5 ounce) can evaporated milk
2 eggs, well beaten
2 cups whole milk
1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed Cheddar cheese soup (such as Campbell's®)
1 pinch paprika, or as desired

Steps:

  • Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook elbow macaroni in the boiling water, stirring occasionally until cooked through but firm to the bite, 8 minutes. Drain and transfer pasta to slow cooker.
  • Add butter to pasta and stir until melted; season with salt and pepper. Sprinkle about 1/2 the Cheddar cheese over pasta and stir.
