3 eggs
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup vegetable oil
2 cups self-rising flour
2 cups oats
2 cups chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a baking sheet.
  • In a large bowl, stir together the eggs, brown and white sugars, and vanilla. Add the oil and mix to combine. In a separate bowl, combine the flour and the oats. Gradually, stir flour mixture into egg mixture 1/2 cup at a time, stirring until completely mixed. Fold in chocolate chips. Spread the mixture evenly onto a baking sheet.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 13 minutes. Remove from oven still slightly gooey, and let cool for 3 minutes before cutting into squares. Then cool on a wire rack for 10 minutes. Store in an air-tight container.

I've always wanted an oatmeal raisin bar cookie recipe that's chewy and cookie-ish, not too cakey. (I'm too lazy to drop cookies.) I became such a fan of Recipe #98981 that I decided to see if it would work as an oatmeal raisin cookie. It worked great! This pan was gobbled up just like the original. Thanks Marg!

2 cups flour (I use up to 1/2 c of this as wheat germ)
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon clove
1 cup brown sugar
2 cups oats (I don't use instant)
1 cup walnuts, coarsely chopped
2 eggs
1 cup vegetable oil
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup raisins

Steps:

  • Optional: For plump, moist raisins, cover the raisins with very hot water in a small dish and microwave them on high for a minute or two.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  • In a large mixing bowl, mix the dry ingredients together with a whisk.
  • Stir in the brown sugar, oats, and walnuts.
  • Combine eggs, oil, vanilla, and drained raisins in a smaller bowl.
  • Stir the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients.
  • Press into an ungreased 15x10x1 inch jelly roll pan.
  • Bake for 15 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.

1 1/4 pounds lean 90 percent ground round
2 teaspoons salt, or to taste
2 (8-ounce) packages crescent roll tubes
2 (4-ounce) cans whole green chiles
1 (8-ounce) pack shredded mild cheddar cheese
1/2 medium onion, chopped
1 pint light sour cream
1 bunch scallions (about 8), diced
Black olives, chopped

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Heat skillet on high temperature. Add ground round, salt to taste and brown for approximately 9 minutes. Roll out first package of crescent rolls onto a baking sheet. Separate into 4 individual squares. Do not separate into triangles. Lay one chile on each of the four crescent roll squares. Place 3 ounces cooked ground round on top of each of the 4 chiles. Sprinkle 1-ounce of cheddar cheese and chopped onion over the ground round on each of the 4 wraps. Open the second pack of crescent rolls and place the same square piece over each of the wraps. Top each wrap with another ounce of cheese. Place the wraps in the pre-heated oven. Bake for 13 minutes. Dollop sour cream on each wrap. Top with diced scallions and black olives.

2 lb ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
1 tsp ( each ) salt & pepper
1 - 14.75 can(s) cream of mushroom soup
1/2 lb velveeta cheese, cubed
hamburger buns

Steps:

  • 1. In a medium skillet, brown ground beef with the onions, salt and pepper...until beef is no longer pink and onions are translucent. Drain
  • 2. Add burger back to the pan; blend in the cheese and soup. Simmer until cheese is melted, stirring continuously.
  • 3. Serve on buns with a nice ripe slice of tomato. ( optional )
  • 4. Enjoy!
