DEAD SEA BATH SALTS



Dead Sea Bath Salts image

I got this recipe off of Welltellme.com. I adjusted it by adding the dried lavendar. If you use the lavendar, just be warned that it will leave a mess in your tub, but is easy to rinse down the drain. Dead sea salt is very therapeutic for the body. Do not rinse off.

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 cup dead sea salt or 1 cup regular sea salt
2 -3 tablespoons baking soda
2 tablespoons dried lavender (optional)
2 tablespoons coconut oil, warmed to liquid
2 tablespoons grapeseed oil (optional)
10 -12 drops lavender oil (essential oils)

Steps:

  • Mix the sea salt, baking soda and dried lavender (if using) together in a small bowl.
  • In another small bowl, mix the coconut oil, grape seed oil and essential oil.
  • Pour the oils into the salts and mix well.
  • Keep in a sealed glass jar in your bathroom and use 2 T in the bath, under warm running water.

  • Mix all ingredients in a large glass bowl using clean hands or a clean spatula. Store in glass containers until use; mason jars work great (but be sure to punch a few holes in the lid to prevent air pressure from building up*). Or, store in plastic bags or containers that allow some airflow. Store in a cool, dry place up to 6 months (3 months if you use oil).
  • Enjoy about 1/2 cup to 1 full cup in each hot bath for a wonderful and relaxing bath. This recipe makes about 5 cups total, which should last you about 5-10 baths total.
