1 pound ground beef
1 onion, chopped
1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed vegetable beef soup, undiluted
1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
3 potatoes, peeled and cubed
4 carrots, sliced
¼ teaspoon salt
⅛ teaspoon black pepper
1 recipe pastry for a 9 inch double crust pie

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C.)
  • In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and chopped onion until meat is no longer pink. Remove from heat and drain off excess fat. Stir in the vegetable beef and cream of mushroom soups, the potatoes and carrots. Season with salt and pepper. Divide filling between 2 - 9 inch pie plates.
  • Roll pastry to fit the top of each pie. Cover each pie and cut slits in top to allow steam to escape.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 45 to 50 minutes, or until golden brown. Let stand on a wire rack for 15 minutes before serving.

3/4 pound ground beef
3/4 pound bulk pork sausage
1 medium onion, chopped
1/3 cup chopped green onions
1 garlic clove, minced
2 tablespoons minced fresh parsley
1 tablespoon water
2 teaspoons all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 tubes (12 ounces each) buttermilk biscuits

Steps:

  • In a large skillet, cook beef and sausage over medium heat until no longer pink; drain. Add onions and garlic; cook until tender. Stir in parsley, water, flour, baking powder, salt and pepper. Heat through. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour. , On a floured surface, pat 10 biscuits into 4-in. circles. Top each with about 1/3 cup of the meat mixture. Pat remaining biscuits into 5-in. circles and place over filling; seal edges with water. Press edges together with a fork dipped in flour; pierce the top. , Place on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 375° for 12-14 minutes or until golden brown and filling is hot.

1 pound ground beef
1/2 cup chili sauce
2 tablespoons onion soup mix
DOUGH:
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 to 2 tablespoons sesame seeds, optional
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup shortening
3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
3/4 cup evaporated milk
1 tablespoon cider vinegar

Steps:

  • In a large skillet, cook beef over medium heat until no longer pink; drain. Stir in chili sauce and soup mix; set aside. , In a large bowl, combine the flour, sesame seeds if desired, and salt. Cut in shortening and cheese until crumbly. Combine milk and vinegar; gradually add to flour mixture, tossing with a fork until dough forms a ball. , Divide dough in half; roll out to 1/8-in. thickness. Cut with a lightly floured 2-1/2-in. round cutter. Place half of the circles 2 in. apart on ungreased baking sheets; top each with a rounded tablespoonful of beef mixture. Top with remaining circles. Moisten edges with water and press with a fork to seal. Cut a slit in the top of each. , Bake at 425° until golden brown, 12-16 minutes. 1 cans mushroom soup
2 units eggs

Steps:

  • Mix together butter and cream cheese. Gradually add the flour and red pepper. Mix together well. Roll out the dough and cut with the biscuit cutter.
  • Brown the meat; add remaining ingredients except for the soup and eggs. Cook until done. Add the soup and raw eggs; mix well. Cool meat mixture; chill.
  • Spoon 1 teaspoonful of meat mixture into each biscuit dough round. Fold dough over meat filling and seal with fork tines.

This is from our Church cookbook, it's very simple and so yummy! Something different when you don't know what to do with ground beef. Serve it with mashed potatoes or French Fries and the kids will love it. This is the kid friendly version, you can spice it up with some chiles or hot pepper sauce if you want to. We like it as is served with HP sauce.

1/2 lb ground beef
1 medium onion, finely chopped
3 tablespoons flour

1 1/2 cups milk
2 eggs
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 minced garlic clove (optional)

Steps:

  • Brown ground beef with onion and garlic, drain fat off well.
  • Stir flour, salt and pepper over browned beef.
  • Spread mixture in pie shell.
  • Spread cheeses over this.
  • Whisk milk, eggs and worcestershire sauce together and carefully pour over ground beef and cheddar.
  • Bake at 400 degrees F for 35-40 minutes.

1 bell pepper, chopped
red pepper
lemon pepper
1 (10 1/2 ounce) can mushroom soup
3 medium onions, chopped
6 garlic cloves, minced
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups margarine, softened
3 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
3 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon red pepper

Steps:

  • Mix together well margarine and cheese.
  • Gradually add the flour and pepper and mix together well roll out the dough and cut with the biscuit cutter.
  • Brown the meat; add remaining ingredients except for the soup and eggs. Cook until done.
  • Add the soup and raw eggs; mix well. Cool meat mixture; chill.
  • Spoon 1 teaspoonful of meat mixture into each biscuit dough round.
  • Fold dough over meat filling and seal with fork tines.
  • Bake and 350°F degrees until biscuits are lightly browned, about 15 to 20 minutes.
