Number Of Ingredients 9

1 beef sirloin tip roast (3 to 4 pounds)
1/2 cup reduced-sodium soy sauce
1 teaspoon beef bouillon granules
1 bay leaf
3 to 4 whole peppercorns
1 teaspoon dried crushed rosemary
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon garlic powder
12 French rolls, split

Steps:

  • Cut roast in half. Place in a 5-qt. slow cooker. Combine the soy sauce, bouillon and seasonings; pour over roast. Add water to almost cover roast, about 5 cups. Cover and cook on low for 10-12 hours or until meat is very tender., Remove roast; cool slightly. Discard bay leaf. Shred meat with 2 forks and return to slow cooker; heat through. Serve on rolls with broth.

1 (10.5 ounce) can beef consomme
1 cup water
1 pound thinly sliced deli roast beef
8 slices provolone cheese
4 hoagie rolls, split lengthwise

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Open the hoagie rolls and lay out on a baking sheet.
  • Heat beef consomme and water in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat to make a rich beef broth. Place the roast beef in the broth and warm for 3 minutes. Arrange the meat on the hoagie rolls and top each roll with 2 slices of provolone.
  • Bake the sandwiches in the preheated oven for 5 minutes, or until the cheese just begins to melt. Serve the sandwiches with small bowls of the warm broth for dipping.

1 Tbsp. olive oil
1 shallot (chopped)
1 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
2 10-oz cans beef consommé (find it in the soup aisle)
1 tsp. steak seasoning (like McCormick Montreal Steak Seasoning)
ground pepper
1 lb. lean roast beef (thinly sliced)
baguette (cut into fourths or your favorite rolls, for serving)
thinly sliced provolone (for serving if desired)

Steps:

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and heat for 1 minute. Add shallots and sauté for 2 minutes. Add flour and sauté 2 more minutes.
  • Slowly whisk in beef consommé. Bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat to low and simmer. Add steak seasoning and pepper.
  • Separate roast beef and place in the au jus sauce until warm. Using tongs, place an equal portion of beef on each section of baguette or rolls. Top with a slice of provolone cheese, if desired. Serve with a small bowl of the extra au jus for dipping. Enjoy!

1 whole wheat roll (scoop out some of the breading to make it lighter)
6 slices of oscar mayer slow roasted roast beef
1 small yellow onion
1 slice of 2% kraft swiss cheese
1/2 cup of college inn beef broth
1/4 teaspoon olive oil

Steps:

  • Thinly slice onion. Sautee onion in olive oil over low to medium heat until carmalized (about 10 minutes).
  • Shred roast beef slices and add to pan with onion. Stir to combine and mix until heated through, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Pile onion and roast beef in center of pan and top with cheese. Turn off heat and let the cheese melt slightly. Fold over mixture to combine cheese, onion and roast beef.
  • Put whole wheat roll under broiler until lightly crispy. Pile roast beef mixture onto roll.
  • Put beef broth into a small microwave safe bowl and heat on high for 1 minute, or until hot.
  • Dip sections of your delcious sandwhich into beef broth as you eat!

1 (4 pound) boneless beef roast
½ cup soy sauce
1 beef bouillon cube
1 bay leaf
3 whole black peppercorns
1 teaspoon dried rosemary, crushed
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon garlic powder
20 slices French bread

Steps:

  • Remove and discard all visible fat from the roast. Place trimmed roast in a slow cooker.
  • In a medium bowl, combine soy sauce, bouillon, bay leaf, peppercorns, rosemary, thyme, and garlic powder. Pour mixture over roast, and add enough water to almost cover roast. Cover, and cook on Low heat for 10 to 12 hours, or until meat is very tender.
  • Remove meat from broth, reserving broth. Shred meat with a fork, and distribute on bread for sandwiches. Used reserved broth for dipping.
