HOMEMADE NUTELLA
A silky, creamy homemade Nutella! It tastes just like the real thing, with a slightly stronger hazelnut flavour and the pure taste of preservative free homemade goodness. This really will knock your socks off. A must try at least once in your life!

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 180C/350F.
- Place hazelnuts on a baking tray, roast for 8 minutes or until golden. Transfer into blender.
- Blend on the lowest speed until the nuts are ground into a crumb. Scrape down the sides as necessary. Then increase the speed to 4 until it turns into a paste. You may need to scrape down the sides - in my Vitamix blender, I did not have to. Then increase the speed as high as it will go and whizz until it becomes smooth with a consistency like honey.
- Add remaining ingredients, then whizz, starting on low and increasing to high. Whizz until smooth - the sugar takes the longest to dissolve (Note 3).
- Pour into a jar - it will be lovely and warm. Allow to cool to spread consistency. Do not refrigerate as the sugar will crystallise and it will become grainy.
- Use as you do Nutella! Especially fabulous with Nutella Crepes!

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or silicone baking mat. Place hazelnuts on the sheet. Roast for 12 to 15 minutes. Watch them after the 10th minute if they are not browning too fast.
- Remove from the oven and transfer onto a clean kitchen towel. Let cool until safe to the touch.
- When cooled, gently rub the nuts with the towel until the skin comes off.
- Place nuts in food processor and process until finely ground. Scrape the sides of the food processor bowl as needed.
- Process nuts until the start to liquify. It can take about 5 minutes. Stop the food processor as needed to scrape the sides of the bowl.
- Add powdered sugar and cocoa. Mix until well combined.
- With the food processor running, drizzle in the oil and vanilla. Process until smooth.
- Add the salt and process for 5 seconds.
- I added the chocolate chips are this point and processed until it all comes together. You may need to add more oil if the mixture clumps up.
- Scrape the spread into a clean jar. Store in refrigerator for up to 1 month.
- If using coconut oil, you may need to let the spread sit on the counter to soften before using.

- Place the hazelnuts on a baking tray and spread them out into a single layer. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until they brown lightly. Remove the tray at the 5 minute mark and give the nuts a toss for evening browning. Let the nuts cool for 10 minute before proceeding.
- Place the hazelnuts on a kitchen or tea towel and rub vigorously with hands or on a smooth surface to help loosen the skin. If some of the skin doesn't come off, that's okay. Melt the chocolate in the microwave in 20 second increments, stopping the microwave and stirring in between until the chocolate melts. Mine took about 40 seconds.
- Add the hazelnuts to a food processor and let the processor run for 2-3 minutes or until a smooth, glossy paste forms. Add the vanilla, salt, cocoa powder, melted chocolate, and ⅓ cup powdered sugar for less sweet nutella at ½ cup for sweeter nutella. Let the food processor run for 1 ½ - 2 minutes while you slowly drizzle in the oil through the food processor opening. Keep in mind the nutella will be runny when you stop the machine but will thicken as it cools.

10 NON-TOXIC SLIME RECIPES TO MAKE AT HOME - THE SPRUCE CRAFTS
From thesprucecrafts.com
- Basic Slime Recipe. What's the science behind slime? Your kids can play with a gooey, sticky, stretchy substance and get a science lesson all at once. Teach them about polymers and cross-linkers with this educational (and fun) tutorial.
- Fluffy Slime. Shaving cream, saline solution, and school glue come together for a non-sticky basic slime formula. Add a few drops of food coloring or a dash of glitter, and you’ve got a kid-friendly putty that’s more puffy than sticky.
- Glitter Glue Slime. Skip a step and stock up on pre-glittered school glue for a super-quick batch of slime anytime. Just add liquid starch to the glue, and keep kneading by hand until you reach the perfect consistency.
- Laundry Detergent Slime. Keep kiddos occupied on laundry day. Grab some laundry detergent—bonus if it’s already colored pale purple or light teal—and add a viscous agent to make a matte slime that won’t stick to tiny hands.
- Marshmallow Slime. Raid the kitchen for the ingredients to make this edible putty. Heat marshmallows and cooking oil in the microwave—with adult supervision of course—then add cornstarch and knead until the slime comes together.
- Unicorn Slime. Stock up on pastel food coloring to hop on trend with unicorn slime. Mix a big batch of ooze following your go-to recipe, then separate into thirds, and add a few drops of pale blue, pink, and purple food dye to each respective section.
- Glowing Slime. You’ll have to source powdered psyllium husks for this recipe, but it’s worth the trip to the health food store (or an online investigation).
- Chocolate Slime. Not only is this recipe edible, but it’s naturally sweetly scented as well. Bring children into the kitchen to help mix up this batch using cornstarch, cocoa powder, and coconut milk.
- Foam Ball Slime. Kids will spend hours stretching and crunching this dynamic ooze, made more touchable with the addition of teeny foam balls. Invest in big bottles of neon food coloring (use it for anything from cupcakes to crepes), and dye a few different batches for a rainbow of bubbly slime that satisfyingly smacks and snaps when manipulated.
- Clear Baking Soda Slime. Keeping your recipe clear and colorless can add a scientific component to your slime. Children can mix in beads, buttons, or any other bits to explore their way through various textures and surfaces.
