My mom made these while I was growing up, and now I make them for my family. Always a favorite at Christmas parties too! Easy to make. Recommend to keep squares in fridge right up until serving.

Ingredients

3 cups toasted oat cereal (such as Cheerios®)
3 cups corn flake cereal
1 cup peanuts
1 cup brown sugar
½ cup corn syrup
½ cup butter
½ cup peanut butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps:

Combine oat cereal, corn flake cereal, and peanuts together in a large bowl.
Mix brown sugar, corn syrup, and butter together in a saucepan; bring to a boil. Remove from heat and stir in peanut butter and vanilla extract until smooth. Pour peanut butter mixture over cereal mixture; stir to coat. Press coated cereal mixture into a 9x13-inch casserole dish. Refrigerate until set, at least 1 hour. Cut into squares.

Ingredients

4 cups high protein crisp rice and wheat cereal
1 cup shredded coconut
1 ½ cups creamy peanut butter
1 cup peanuts
1 cup white sugar
1 cup white corn syrup
2 cups butterscotch chips
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Steps:

Combine cereal and coconut in a medium size bowl.
Combine peanut butter and peanuts in a large mixing bowl.
Heat the sugar and corn syrup over a medium heat and stir constantly until the sugar is dissolved. Pour this mixture into the bowl with the peanut butter; mix well.
Pour cereal mixture into the liquid mixture; mix well. Press the mixture into an ungreased 10x15 inch pan.
Melt the butterscotch and chocolate chips over a medium-low heat; mix well. Spread the mixture over the pan of cereal mixture. Let cool before cutting into bars.

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups corn syrup
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1 1/2 cups crunchy peanut butter
4 cups Rice Krispies
5 cups corn flakes

Steps:

In a large Pam sprayed mixing bowl, combine the cereals.
In a large pot, heat the corn syrup and brown sugar over med. heat.
Stir continually until all of the sugar has dissolved.
Turn the heat to low, add peanut butter, stir until smooth and peanut butter has melted, being careful not to scorch.
When mixture is well blended, pour over cereal.
Spoon into Pam sprayed 11 x 16 pan.
When cool, cut 6 down and 10 across for dainty size.
If you would like thicker squares for a children's treat, use a 9x13 pan.
