Here's what you need: boneless strip steaks, salt, pepper, canola oil, asparagus

Number Of Ingredients 5

Ingredients

2 boneless strip steaks, or shell steaks, about 1-inch (2 cm) thick
salt, to taste
pepper, to taste
3 tablespoons canola oil
1 bunch asparagus

Steps:

Season the steaks on all sides with the salt and pepper.
Heat oil in a pan or a skillet over high heat until smoking.
Sear the steaks for about a minute to a minute and a half on each side, depending on the thickness of your steak for medium-rare. If you would like your steak rarer or more well-done, cook your steak shorter or longer accordingly.
In the same pan, cook the asparagus with salt and pepper until tender but still slightly crunchy. Remove from heat.
After the steaks have rested for about 5 minutes, slice, then serve with the asparagus!

In a medium sized bowl add the red potatoes, carrots, bell peppers, and red onion. Add salt and pepper and toss with olive oil.
Place four 18x12-inch pieces of heavy aluminum foil on counter. Evenly place vegetable mixture on each piece of foil. Top vegetables with steak.
To make the garlic herb butter: In a small bowl add the butter, parsley, garlic, rosemary, thyme, salt and pepper. Divide evenly and place on top of the steak. Double fold top and ends of each piece of foil, leaving space for steam to gather.
Place packets on the grill and cover. Grill 15 minutes or until steak is cooked through and veggies are tender. Carefully open packets and serve.
