Steps:
- Bake or fry tempura shrimp as directed on the package.
- Cut tails off the tempura shrimp.
- Slice tempura shrimp in half lengthwise.
- Roll the sushi inside-out, using 1/2 a sheet of nori instead of a whole sheet, and 2 slices of tempura shrimp (one whole shrimp) as your filling.
- Drizzle teriyaki sauce over the roll, and squeeze a stripe of hot sauce along the roll. Enjoy!

COOKED SWEET POTATO SUSHI ROLL RECIPE
Sweet Potato Sushi Rolls are one of my favorite cooked sushi recipes. They're sweet, savory, and creamy. So delicious!

- Wash the rice and add it to the rice maker together with water. Cook according to the instruction.
- Once cooked, transfer the hot rice to a large bowl and let it cool down slightly. When it's still very warm, stir in the sushi vinegar.
- Lay out the bamboo mat with an optional piece of plastic wrap on top sticking.
- Cut off 1/3 of the nori seaweed sheet using kitchen scissors. Then place the remaining nori sheet towards the bottom of the mat, shinning side facing down.
- Take 3/4 cup of cooked rice and evenly spread over nori while leaving 1/2 inch at the top of the sheet. Wet your fingers in the vinegar water to spread the rice in a thin layer.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds on top of the rice, and then place sweet potato strips and avocado slices on top.
- Place the thumbs underneath the bamboo mat and lift the edge up and over the filling.
- Roll the bamboo mat away from you and press the rice and filling together. Use the bamboo mat to continue rolling until reaching the blank nori on the edge.
- Peeling the mat back away as you continue to roll, so that the nori can be rolled into a cylinder. Press the mat gently so that the roll won't fall apart when you cut it.
- Place the roll on a cutting board and use a long sharp knife to cut off the edges on each side. Then cut each roll into 8 pieces. Serve and enjoy!

- Lay the bamboo sushi rolling mat on a cutting board with bamboo strips going horizontally from you. Cover the bamboo with plastic wrap. Put a sheet of dried seaweed on top of the mat, shiny side down. Spread sushi rice on top of the seaweed and press firmly.
- Turn the sushi layer over so that the seaweed is on top. Place shrimp tempura, avocado and cream cheese lengthwise on the seaweed. Roll the bamboo mat forward, pressing the ingredients inside the cylinder-shaped sushi (the KEY is to roll it TIGHT). Press the bamboo mat firmly with hands, then remove the rolled sushi. - Roll the roll in flour then dip entire rice roll in tempura batter and deep fry (oil heated to 350-degrees) for about 3 minutes or until batter turns crispy and golden brown (you DON'T need to do this in a deep fryer. You can just do about 1/2 c. - 1 c. of oil in a frying pan and keep turning the roll until it is golden brown on all sides). Remove from oil and let cool for a few minutes.

- Prepare the cucumber by using a vegetable peeler to peel full-length slices from a whole piece. For reference, 1 ounce of cucumber will be about 10 slices. Arrange the slices in single layers between paper towels, and press down on the paper towels to absorb excess water. When the cucumber slices no longer feel wet, weigh the slices to yield the amount listed in the ingredients. You may discard any remaining cucumber slices or use them for another recipe.
- Lay a sheet of roasted seaweed (also called nori) on a clean, dry surface. Arrange the cucumber slices across the sheet of nori in a single layer. Slice fresh avocado into thin slices and arrange them in a row alongside the crab. Next, cut cold cream cheese into thin strips and line up the strips end-to-end across the crab. If your cream cheese is warm, you won’t be able to have the clean cuts that are needed.
- Begin rolling the sushi up, starting at the end with all the filling. You may use a knife or other utensil to help you lift the edge of the nori up and fold over the filling to begin the roll. You can use your hands or a sushi-making tool to roll the sushi up into a tight roll, rolling the seam underneath at the end. Make sure your hands are clean and dry or else the delicate nori may tear. Use a super-sharp knife to cut each sushi roll into 6 pieces.
