Super Healthy Strawberry Spinach Smoothie Recipe image

Try this simple and healthy 5-minute strawberry spinach green smoothie, which will keep you full for a long time. This green smoothie can be served as a snack, breakfast, or dessert.

10-12 strawberries
1 large banana
7 ounces baby spinach (200 g)
1 tablespoon chia seeds
1 cup orange juice (fresh or organic preservative-free bottled)
1/2 cup plain yogurt (use non-dairy yogurt for vegan)
1 tablespoon honey (use maple syrup or agave nectar for vegan)

Steps:

  • Wash strawberries and chop off the top leafy part. Now cut the strawberries into slices. Freeze for 5-6 hours.
  • Peel the banana, cut it into slices and freeze for 5-6 hours.
  • Wash spinach and drain the excess water. You can use a salad spinner to get rid of the extra water. To save time, buy prewashed spinach.
  • Note - If you have forgotten to freeze the fruits beforehand, add a few ice cubes to the blender while making the smoothie. It will make it creamy.
  • Juice 2-3 oranges to get 1 cup of orange juice or use preservative-free bottled juice.
  • Add the frozen strawberries, frozen banana, baby spinach, chia seeds, orange juice, yogurt, and honey to a high-speed blender.
  • You can thaw the frozen fruits on the counter for 10 minutes if they are too hard.
  • Blend until smooth. Transfer the smoothie into 2 serving glasses. Garnish with halved strawberry and serve chilled.

1 cup unsweetened almond milk or milk of choice
1 tablespoon chia seeds

Steps:

  • Place all of the ingredients in a high powered blender in the order listed: spinach, banana, strawberry pineapple, almond milk, and chia seeds.
  • Blend until smooth. If you'd like a thinner smoothie, splash in a bit more milk. For a thicker smoothie, add a few handfuls of ice. Enjoy immediately, or place in an airtight jar and refrigerate for a few hours.
