1 boneless beef round steak (1 lb.), 1/2 inch thick, well trimmed
1/4 cup A.1. Thick & Hearty Sauce
1/4 cup KRAFT Fat Free Italian Dressing
1/2 g chopped onions
2 small cloves garlic, minced
1 g new potatoes, quartered
1/2 g sliced fresh mushrooms
1 g (16 oz.) frozen broccoli, cauliflower and carrot blend

Steps:

  • Cut steak into 6 pieces; place in single layer in large baking dish sprayed with cooking spray. Mix steak sauce, dressing, onions and garlic; pour over meat. Refrigerate 1 hour to marinate.
  • Heat oven to 350ºF. Add potatoes and mushrooms to ingredients in baking dish; cover.
  • Bake 1 hour or until meat is done (160ºF) and potatoes are tender, adding frozen vegetable blend to the baking dish for the last 15 min.

1-1/2 pounds beef top round steak, cut into strips
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 large onion, sliced
1 large green pepper, sliced
1 can (14-1/2 ounces) diced tomatoes, undrained
1 jar (4 ounces) sliced mushrooms, drained
3 tablespoons reduced-sodium soy sauce
2 tablespoons molasses
Hot cooked egg noodles, optional

Steps:

  • In a 3-qt. slow cooker, toss beef with flour, salt and pepper. Stir in all remaining ingredients except noodles., Cook, covered, on low until meat is tender, 6-8 hours. If desired, serve with noodles.

3/4 c flour
6 tsp olive oil
2 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
1 tsp celery salt
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion salt
1 tbsp dry mustard
1 large sliced onion
2 c water
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1/2 c sour cream

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
  • 2. Heat oil up in a cast iron or other heavy bottomed pan over medium-high until oil is shimmering.
  • 3. While oil heats combine flour, salt, pepper, celery salt, garlic powder, onion salt, and dry mustard in a large flat bowl. Take tenderized steak and dredge both sides in the flour mixture, shake off any excess.
  • 4. Once oil is heated, carefully lay the steaks one at a time and fry until meat is browned and crisp. Remove from the pan and place in a baking dish that has a fitting cover.
  • 5. Top steak with sliced onion, garlic, water, and Worcestershire sauce. Cover and place in preheated oven for 2 to 2 ½ hours, until steak is tender. Remove the steaks and transfer to your serving dish.
  • 6. Transfer liquids to a small pot and let simmer until slightly thickened. Add sour cream and mix. Pour over the steaks and serve.

Quick Round Steak -- Comfort Food image

This came from my mother-in-law via my wife. It's always been a family favorite, especially in cool/cold weather. It does require a pressure cooker, but I believe more people should learn to cook with one. It's fast! And it makes one of the tougher cuts of beef into a melt-in-your-mouth comfort food. I've never seen any written directions that I know of. Just experiment a little and you'll come up with your own!

1 1/2 lbs boneless round steak
3/4 cup flour
salt and pepper
garlic powder or minced garlic
2 (10 1/2 ounce) cans cream of mushroom soup

Steps:

  • Cut the round steak into pieces about the size for one serving -- maybe 2-3 inches by 4-5 inches.
  • Season meat with salt, pepper, garlic.
  • Dredge in white flour (both sides).
  • Brown meat in 1/2 cup (+/-) oil in skillet or bottom of pressure cooker.
  • Empty the soup cans into the pressure cooker. (If you used it for browning, be sure to pour off excess oil.).
  • Add the meat -- unless it's still in the pressure cooker :).
  • Mix meat gently into soup concentrate, making sure that each piece is coated on both sides.
  • Following the directions for your pressure cooker, cover and seal.
  • Place the "rocker" on the top steam vent.
  • Cook over medium-high heat.
  • When the "rocker" begins rocking, you can reduce heat as long as it keeps rocking.
  • Cook for ten to twelve minutes, then remove from heat.
  • Following directions for your cooker, allow to cool on a trivet or hasten the cooling with water running into a sink.
  • DO NOT remove the rocker until the pressure has gone down.
  • Open lid when the pressure lock permits.
  • Serve hot with mashed potatoes and vegetable of your choice.
  • (Increase or decrease amounts carefully! The amount of meat can be varied, but doubling the meat doesn't mean you need to double the amount of oil.).

1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 cup milk
2 eggs, beaten
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 onion, sliced
1 1/2 cups beef broth

Steps:

  • Cut steak in serving size pieces.
  • In shallow bowl mix flour.
  • salt and pepper.
  • In another bowl,place beaten eggs and milk.
  • Heat oil in 10 inch skillet.
  • Put steak in flour, then eggs, then flour again.
  • Fry on med till browned.
  • Place in baking pan.
  • Put onions over steak.
  • Pour broth on onions.
  • Cover and bake at 350* for 60 minutes.
  • Uncover, stir, and bake 30 minutes more.
