I made these for my children and now will be making them for my granddaughter. Putting them in paper drink cups saves on messy fingers!

1 (3 ounce) package fruit flavored Jell-O® mix
1 unsweetened, flavored soft drink mix package
1 cup white sugar
1 cup boiling water

Steps:

  • In large pitcher, combine gelatin, soft drink mix, sugar and boiling water. Stir until powders are dissolved. Add enough cold water to make 2 quarts. Pour into 3 oz. paper drinking cups and freeze until hardened.

Homemade ice pops are easy to make with 100% fruit and no added sugar. Mixing flavors makes homemade ice pops an easy frugal summer dessert.

1 lb fresh or frozen fruit of your choice (thawed if frozen)
2-4 Tbsp liquid of your choice

Steps:

  • Combine the ingredients in a blender and blend until there are no chunks in the mixture. The consistency should resemble thin pancake batter, so use the tips above to adjust the thickness as desired.
  • Using a funnel, pour the mixture into the reusable plastic tubes or silicone molds. Seal and freeze for at least 6 hours, or overnight.

1/2 cup water
1 tablespoon honey, agave syrup, or your choice of liquid sweetener

Steps:

  • Add all ingredients to a high-speed blender with the fruit added so it's furthest from the blade. Blend until smooth.
  • Using a funnel, pour the mixture into ice pop sleeves to the "fill" line. Close each sleeve after it's been filled.
  • Freeze for at least two hours, or until firm.

  • Zest one lime and chop fine. Chop the mint leaves fine. Add the lime zest and chopped mint leaves to a spouted bowl.
  • Add all of the liquid ingredients to the bowl. If you’re not using the sugarcane juice add a teaspoon of sugar and taste. Make adjustments for sweetness.
  • Mix everything together and pour into ice pop molds. Put the ice pop handles on and put in the freezer.
  • Freeze for 2 to 3 hours or overnight. Pull the handles out of the semi frozen ice pop and using a chop stick or a skewer to gently mix from the bottom so the lime zest and mint leaves that have sunk to the bottom of the mold are evenly distributed. Put the handles back in and freeze completely.
