Spicy Hot Saltine Crackers image

If you enjoy snacks with a bit of a kick, you will love these Spicy Hot Saltine Crackers! These easy flavor-packed crackers are perfect for a party.

Provided by Three Snackateers

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 cup Canola Oil
1 pkg Hidden Valley The Original Ranch Salad Dressing & Seasoning Mix
2 - 3 tbsp Crushed Red Pepper
3 sleeves Saltine Crackers

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 250 degrees.
  • Add all four ingredients to a large mixing bowl.
  • Using a spatula or large spoon, gently mix ingredients for approximately 5-10 minutes to ensure that all ingredients are evenly coated.
  • Spread crackers out on a large cookie sheet and bake in oven for 15-20 minutes, stirring them half way through.
  • Remove from oven, let cool and enjoy!

Steps:

  • 1. Use a large (2 gallon size) ziplock storage bag (or container with tight lid).
  • 2. Add the oil, dressing mix, red pepper flakes and crackers.
  • 3. Tumble constantly for 15 minutes.

1-1/2 teaspoons dill weed
1 envelope (1 ounce) ranch salad dressing mix
2 packages (10 ounces each) oyster crackers

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, whisk the oil, dill and salad dressing mix. Place the crackers in a large bowl; pour dressing mixture over crackers and toss gently to coat. Allow to stand at least 1 hour before serving.

Number Of Ingredients 6

1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/8 teaspoon salt
4 drops Tabasco sauce
1 banana, mashed
coarse salt

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 450 and grease a 12x15 inch cookie sheet. In a med. size bowl using a pastry blender, mix butter, flour and 1/8 teaspoons salt together until crumbly.
  • Using a fork, stir in Tabasco and banana.
  • On a floured surface, knead mixture gently adding a small amount of flour if necessary to make the dough firm.
  • Divide dough into half and roll out one half at a time on a floured surface until thin enough to cover prepared cookie sheet. Place dough on cookie sheet and sprinkle lightly with the coarse salt. Using a pastry cutter, cut through dough into 1" squares.
  • Bake 6-8 minutes or until lightly browned.
  • Remove crackers with a spatula and place on a wire rack to cool.
  • Repeat with second half of the dough.

I made this recipe when I was craving banana pudding but out of the traditional Nilla® wafers. When I realized the graham crackers would make nice even layers a snap, the idea to make it in an 8x8-inch pan came quickly. It tastes amazing, and the crackers soften quicker than the wafers do. The addition of the Dream Whip® topping mix makes this very creamy and the even layering means you taste all three elements in every bite!

3 ½ cups cold 2% milk
2 (3.5 ounce) packages instant French vanilla pudding mix
1 (1.3 ounce) envelope dry whipped topping mix (such as Dream Whip®)
½ (14.4 ounce) package graham crackers, or more as needed
2 large bananas, sliced, or more to taste

Steps:

  • Pour milk, pudding mix, and whipped topping mix into a large bowl; mix with an electric whisk or hand whisk until ingredients are combined and a thick pudding forms.
  • Break graham cracker sheets in half to form squares.
  • Cover the bottom of an 8-inch square baking pan with 9 graham cracker squares. Layer 1/2 of the banana slices on top in even rows and cover with 1/2 of the pudding mixture, using a spatula to spread it evenly. Repeat layers once more. Sprinkle the top with graham cracker crumbs, if desired.
  • Cover and refrigerate until fully chilled, 4 hours or longer. Cut into 9 squares to serve.

HONEY PECAN BUTTER:
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/4 cup honey
1/3 cup chopped pecans, toasted
HOTCAKES:
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 egg
1 cup milk
1 cup mashed ripe bananas (about 2 medium)
3 tablespoons canola oil
2 teaspoons lemon juice
Maple syrup, optional

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, beat butter and honey until smooth. Stir in pecans; set aside. , In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and cinnamon. In a small bowl, whisk the egg, milk, bananas, oil and lemon juice; stir unto dry ingredients just until moistened., Pour batter by 1/4 cupfuls onto a greased hot griddle. Turn when bubbles form on top; cook until second side is golden brown. Serve with honey pecan butter and syrup if desired.
