This is a yummy lunch that I came up with one day when I had limited food in the house, and was really hungry!

1 slice white bread, toasted
1 slice American cheese
1 hot dog, boiled
ketchup (or mustard if you prefer)

Steps:

  • Boil hot dog (if frozen, must be defrosted in microwave first) for 5 minutes.
  • Toast bread while hot dog is boiling.
  • Put bread slice on a plate and place slice of American cheese on it.
  • Once hot dog is ready, place hot dog on top of cheese on bread, and fold the bread around the hot dog.
  • Put ketchup (or mustard) on top of hot dog.
  • Enjoy!

1/2 cup Dijon mustard
1/4 cup honey
2 teaspoons rice wine vinegar
1 cup Mexican crema
1 teaspoon Sriracha
1 avocado, diced
1/2 cup shredded carrots
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
2 teaspoons chopped fresh dill
1/4 head green cabbage, thinly sliced
1/3 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup buttermilk
1 1/2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
8 hot dogs
1 stick unsalted butter, melted
8 hot dog buns

Steps:

  • For the honey mustard: Whisk together the mustard, honey and vinegar in a medium mixing bowl.
  • For the relish: In a medium bowl, whisk together the crema and Sriracha. Gently stir in the avocado with a rubber spatula.
  • For the slaw: Place the carrots, parsley, dill and cabbage in a large mixing bowl. In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, buttermilk, lemon juice, mustard and onion powder. Season with salt and pepper, and then add the dressing to the cabbage mixture. Toss to coat.
  • For the hot dogs: Preheat a grill over medium heat.
  • Halve the hot dogs lengthwise, making sure to not slice all the way through. Place the hot dogs cut-side down and grill until browned and slightly charred, about 4 minutes per side.
  • Brush the melted butter on the inside of the buns. Grill the buns buttered-side down until lightly browned, 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Place the hot dogs in the toasted buns and serve with the honey mustard, relish and slaw.

3 - 4 pieces hot dogs or sausages
cheese slices
mayonnaise
4 pieces white bread
2 eggs
½ cup evaporated milk or fresh milk
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon pepper
butter for frying

Steps:

  • First, cook the hot dogs or sausages according to the packaging. After, sliced these to circles and set aside.
  • Prepare 4 slices of bread. Spread mayonnaise on one side. Place the hotdogs over the mayonnaise, then layer on the cheese, and cover with another bread, mayonnaise side down. Press to seal. Repeat for the other pair of bread.
  • For the coating, in a pan, mix the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper. Soak both sides of the sandwich. Take these out.
  • Prepare a pan at medium heat, melt butter and place the sandwich in, cook for 3 -5 minutes on each side or till it looks golden brown.
  • Take it off the heat, slice and serve!

Here's what you need: warm water, yeast, sugar, flour, salt, olive oil, cheddar cheese, hot dogs

1 ⅓ cups warm water
1 yeast
1 teaspoon sugar
3 ½ cups flour
1 ½ teaspoons salt
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 cup cheddar cheese
5 hot dogs

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400˚F (200˚C).
  • In a small bowl, add yeast and sugar to the warm water. Let sit until yeast activates and begins to bubble, about 5-10 minutes.
  • Add flour and salt to a large bowl and mix. Create a well in the middle of the dough and pour yeast mixture into the center.
  • Stir until it forms into a ball, and continue with your hands. (If the dough is too sticky, add a little bit more flour).
  • Transfer to a floured surface and knead dough for 5 minutes.
  • Coat a large bowl with olive oil and place the dough in the bowl. Cover with a towel and place in a warm, dry place to double in size.
  • Once risen, transfer dough to a floured surface.
  • Cut the dough in half and set one of the halves aside. (The other half can be used to make a second batch of hot dog twists or it can be wrapped up and frozen for up to 3 months!)
  • Cut the dough into 5 evenly-sized pieces.
  • Flatten the dough and add a layer of cheese to the bottom.
  • Lay the hot dog on top of the cheese and fold the dough over. Pinch the ends together to make a seam. Cut off the extra dough on the ends and pinch to seal the ends.

  • Pre-heat an oven to 150 - 175 degrees.
  • Heat a pan & coat it in butter.
  • Mix Eggs, Milk, Vanilla Extract in a square bowl (for dipping).
