Steps:
- Place all ingredients in a large glass measuring or any microwave safe bowl. Note: the rice expands during cooking, so be sure to choose a container that is large enough. Microwave on high, uncovered, for 10 minutes. Microwave on medium-low, uncovered, for 15 minutes. Do not stir the rice at any time during the cooking process. Season with salt and fluff with a fork just before serving.

- Add the water and oil to your dish then crumble the bullion cubes into the water. Sprinkle the rice on top and give it a little stir. Cook in the microwave, uncovered, for 10 minutes on high power. Then cover the dish, but don't stir and cook for 30 minutes on 50% power. Don't open the microwave yet. Let the dish sit in it for 10 minutes. Remove from microwave and fluff with a fork.

- Rice doubles in size during cooking so choose a container large enough to accommodate final product.
- Microwave uncovered on high for 10 minutes.
- Then microwave uncovered on medium-low for 15 minutes.
- Do not stir rice at anytime during cooking process.
- Season with salt and fluff with a fork before serving.

PERFECT EASY MICROWAVE RICE
I got this recipe with the cookbook that came with my first Microwave and I've been using it ever since! The rice comes out perfect every time. No muss, no fuss and can be served in the casserole dish you cooked it in. You can also use this method for brown rice but increase your cooking time a little.

Steps:
- Using a 2 quart casserole dish with lid, put rice, hot water, butter and salt in dish. Stir. (I put my casserole dish on a plate in the micro as sometimes the water boils over a little. Saves cleanup after).
- Cover, and microwave on high power 5 minutes. Stir with fork (careful watch the steam!)
- Cover and put back in microwave and cook on medium this time for 15 minutes.
- Remove lid (careful again!) and fluff with fork.
- Let stand 2-3 minutes.
- Serve.

- Read the note both above or below this recipe about using the right scoop. I used the small rice scooper that came with my rice maker. If you don't have this, follow this recipe using measurements by weight for best results.
- Measure out your long grain brown rice and rinse under running water. Place the rice in a large microwave-safe bowl (the rice will expand so you need enough room, I use a microwave-safe eight-cup mixing bowl).
- Add water into the rice bowl and place it in the microwave for 10 minutes on the highest power (my microwave’s highest power is level 10).
- After 10 minutes, use a dish towel to cover the bowl and continue to cook for 15 minutes, but lower the power to half the strength (mine is level 5). After this is finished, let it rest in the microwave for five minutes (do not open the door).
