Brown sugar and tomatoes with onions add tangy-sweet flavor to this juicy meatloaf

PAM® Original No-Stick Cooking Spray
1 can (8 oz each) Hunt's® Tomato Sauce
2 tablespoons firmly packed dark brown sugar
1 pound ground sirloin beef (90% lean)
1 can (14.5 oz each) Hunt's® Diced Tomatoes with Sweet Onion, drained
1 cup dry unseasoned bread crumbs
2 eggs, lightly beaten

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400°F. Line shallow baking pan with aluminum foil; spray foil with cooking spray. Mix tomato sauce and brown sugar in small bowl; set aside.
  • Combine meat, drained tomatoes, bread crumbs and eggs in medium bowl. Shape meat mixture into a loaf shape in pan.
  • Bake 30 minutes. Remove from oven; pour tomato sauce mixture over meatloaf. Reduce oven temperature to 350°F. Bake 25 to 30 minutes more or until meatloaf is cooked through (160°F). Let stand 10 minutes before cutting into 6 slices.

1 can (15.25 oz) Hunts family favorites seasoned tomato sauce for meatloaf
2 lbs 93% lean ground beef
2 large eggs, beaten
1 c. quick cooking oats, dry bread crumbs or crushed crackers

Steps:

  • Preheat ove to 400 degrees
  • combine 1/2 can of the hunts sauce with the rest of the ingredients
  • Bake uncovered, 1 hour.
  • Remove from oven and drain.
  • Top meatloaf with remaining sauce
  • Bake an additional 10 minutes
  • Allow to stand 10 minutes before serving
  • Serves 8

70's Hunt's Spaghetti Sauce With Meat image

This recipe has been my standard for pasta and lasagna. I've never found another like it and it seems that many people haven't since I lost it and tried on here, Hunt's website, and many, many other places to find it again. I'm posting it here so it won't get lost again. If you are into canning, make a bunch. Give this sauce time to thicken. It's even better the next day!

Number Of Ingredients 12

1 1/2 lbs ground beef
1 cup onion (chopped)
2 -4 garlic cloves (minced)
2 (6 ounce) cans tomato paste
1 (28 ounce) can diced tomatoes with juice
3 cups water
2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon sweet basil
1 teaspoon sugar
1 -2 teaspoon oregano
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 tablespoons oil (if using extra lean meat)

Steps:

  • Brown hamburger.
  • Add garlic and onion, cook till tender.
  • Drain fat.
  • Add remaining ingredients.
  • Reduce heat to low and simmer til sauce is thickened to your preference (1 1/2 to 2 hours).
  • Serve over your favorite pasta or use to prepare lasagna.
