Every Southern family has a sweet tea recipe, and this one is ours. It's as Southern as a biscuit, great with any dish from apple pie to baked ziti, and should always be available in the fridge.

Number Of Ingredients 4

Ingredients

4 Luzianne® Family Size Iced Tea bags
1 gallon (16 cups) of cold spring water or filtered water, divided into 2 (8-cup) portions
1 cup granulated sugar, or to taste
Lemon wheels, orange wedges, or mint sprigs or leaves for garnish, optional

Steps:

In a pot, bring 8 cups of water to a boil; remove from heat Add tea bags and allow to steep for 3-5 minutes depending on the strength of tea you prefer. Remove tea bags and stir sugar into warm tea; continue to stir until completely dissolved. Pour concentrated tea into pitcher and mix in remaining 8 cups water. Allow to cool to room temperature. Pour into glasses packed with ice cubes, garnish and serve. For best flavor, refrigerate and use within 48 hours.

Ingredients

4 regular sized tea bags (any brand you like)
12 cups water, in the coffee pot
2 cups sugar (some people prefer 3 cups but i think its a little too much)
1 lemon, sliced

Steps:

fill water in coffee pot to 12 cups.
put tea bags where you would put coffee but with no filter.turn on.
meanwhile in a 1 gallon pitcher add 2 cups of sugar(may adjust to your taste). when tea is done pour it into the pitcher and add enough water to make one gallon.add lemon if you want(in the south we dont add lemon).
**you can use ice instead of extra water ,fill the pitcher completely with the ice before you put the hot tea in the pitcher. when tea is done pour into the pitcher and stir. refrigerate until cold and enjoy!

1 pinch baking soda
2 cups boiling water
6 tea bags
¾ cup white sugar
6 cups cool water

Steps:

Sprinkle a pinch of baking soda into a 64-ounce, heat-proof, glass pitcher. Pour in boiling water, and add tea bags. Cover, and allow to steep for 15 minutes.
Remove tea bags, and discard; stir in sugar until dissolved. Pour in cool water, then refrigerate until cold.
