I like some parmesan sprinkled on these. The original recipe didn't have quantities listed and I always guess quantities anyway, so I hope I have guessed correctly for posting.

Ingredients

2 sheets puff pastry
1 cup sharp cheddar cheese
1 small onion, chopped very, very finely
salt & pepper

Steps:

Cut pastry into small rounds and sprinkle with remaining ingredients.
Bake 15 mins at 180degC (350degF).

Steps:

Mix ingredients well and chill for 1 hour.
Preheat oven to 350*.
Roll mixture into 1 inch balls and place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake for 10 minutes or until golden brown.

Top each cracker with basil, cheese and tomato, and voila! you have a canape!
